The lad is pure quality, and would have gone to Madrid if he had been a bigger name. Real's policy of trying to sign the biggest names rather than the best players means they have chosen to go for Vierra instead of alonso this season.
Their loss will be our gain, and I cant wait to see him and Stevie G rip the heart out of Lampard, Pires, Giggs, Llungberg, Makelele, Fletcher and any other half baked midfield.
The two will be awesome.
spot on. i've seen alonso a lot in la liga and the guy is awesome. very similar to gerrard in a lot of ways in that he's a box to box player who can put his foot in, is a great passer and has an awesome shot. the two will compliment each other perfectly. the premiership beware.

i really believe that alonso and gerrard could form the best midfield partnership in the league. He's exactly the type of quality we need

I think that Stevie and Alonso wil go on to form the most dominant midfield pairing since Petit and Viera at Arsenal. We all know what Arsenal did that year......the double

great midfield dou but we r still very week on the right side of midfield and harry kewel still has a lot to prove on the left IMO
