Radio Merseyside tonight are reporting that Steven Gerrard has requested a transfer from Liverpool fc. L.F.C. have turned the request down, but just how long can we keep hold of him now?

if steven gerrard thinks he,s bigger than LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB we should let him go. no one is irreplaceable and as far as im concerned he,s let us down big time by not giving the new manager a go i haven,t heard a denial off stevie yet and i dont expect to

I feel we should reserve judgement until we get some concrete evidence either way.

I am fuming at the thought of it, but I think its best if we wait to hear it from the horses mouth.

I don't really want to believe this untill I see him playing alongside Makalele and Lampard.

Seems a bit strange this when the boy is involved in a major tournement and he is not even in the country .

Maybe that explains why he efff`d up the frigging back pass if his mind is on other things

If its true... than more back passes like that disaster the other night will bring him down a-peg-or-two. Perhaps he's believing the hype about how great he is? He's not sharing a room with Lampard is he?

Credit to Roman though, he's sewn-up the manager and now his check book seems to be doing its perenial rounds?

Shame on LFC!

The longer LFC meander along and make no decision on a new manager and new money, the worse it wil get and the speculation runs roiot.

I can almost hear SG's agent whispering in his ear "The situations unstable at LFC Steve, you can earn £125,000 a week  at Chelsea, whose signing for Liverpool these days , " whilst no doubt contemplating a fat percentage in agent's fees ???

What Radio Merseyside interview?

Pay no attention.  His mind is completely focussed on England at the moment.

It wasnt an interview ,it was a news statement on radio merseyside sport. Just because he is totally focused on playing for england at the moment, doesnt mean his agent is.

Personally, i think Owen and Stevie will give it another year.  IF we finish next season 30 points off the top, cupless and clueless then i won't blame them for wanting off to the likes of Real Madrid and AC Milan

Agents.  Who needs them?  There are stories going around that Gerrard doesn't like Benitez.  Has he met him?  Has he been consulted like Parry and Moores said they would and was he not entirely favourable to the idea of Benitez managing Liverpool?

Lets hope Benitez meets up with him soon and his plans impress Gerrard.

Gerrard has a 4 year contract.  Even 'if' he wants out, i would demand at least another season from him.
