A genuine club legend has passed away, him and Ron Yeats were the 2 cornerstones of the modern Liverpool.
Considering he was a feisty working class ex-amateur boxer from the Scottish steel town of Motherwell he was a surprisingly good broadcaster too, the Saint and Greavsie was a fine show and he anchored it brilliantly.
RIP you legend and thank you for all you did in a red shirt.

I'm reminded of the story about the poster outside a church in Liverpool . The poster read
What will you do if Jesus comes back tomorrrow ?

And somebody had scrawled underneath

Move St John to inside right

:D

A Club legend. RIP.

A key player in that first team of superstars, Saint, Yates, Cally, Hunt, Lawrence etc... that evolved into Lawler, Lindsay, Peter Thompson, Brian Hall, Clem.... these were the boys that made this club what it is, they created the legend.  RIP Saint, straight into the Heaven 1st XI.
