Pretty much confirmed that the deal is done.

Bit surprised with this one myself but with any luck he will hold his own. Best of luck to him  :nod

I know absolutely nothing about about this guy. But if Klopp had chosen him then that's good enough for me.

I also never heard of him but what an opportunity for him, he may just be another gem. At 25 he is at the perfect age to take the step up.

Good news that we're shoring up this position, finally!!

Love the idea of getting Fabinho back into midfield alongside 2 of Thiago, Hendo and Gini. Played almost every game for them last 3 1/2 seasons so seems to be able to stay fit!!

From Wiki

Born in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria,[5] Davies signed with the youth system at Preston North End after being spotted playing for Furness Rovers aged 11.[6] He made his debut for the first team in a home 2–2 draw against Coventry City on 26 January 2013 at the age of 17 years, completing 83 minutes before being replaced by David Buchanan.[7] During the match, he provided an assist for Nicky Wroe's 60th-minute equaliser and picked up a yellow card for a foul on Cyrus Christie.[7][8] He drew praise from Preston manager Graham Westley, who likened Davies' transition into the first team to that of George Boyd at Stevenage.[8] Davies kept his place for the next match at home against Shreswbury Town.[7] His second match did not go as well as his debut, conceding a 90th-minute penalty (for which he picked up a booking), fouling Marvin Morgan in the penalty box.[7][9] He was substituted shortly after for Paul Huntington, with Preston to ultimately lose the match.[9] He signed a one-year professional contract at Preston, with an option to extend for a second year, in May 2013, after being named the club's Scholar of the Year for the 2012–13 season.[10]

Davies joined League Two club York City on 19 July 2013 on a one-month loan.[11] He made his debut in a 1–0 home win over Northampton Town on 3 August 2013, in the first match of 2013–14.[12] On 15 August 2013, his loan was extended until January 2014,[13] having appeared in York's opening two matches.[12]

Davies joined Tranmere Rovers of League Two on 19 September 2014 on a one-month loan[14] and made his debut a day later in a 2–1 home defeat to Exeter City.[15] He played in four matches for Tranmere, returning to Preston once the loan ended on 22 October 2014.[16] He joined National League club Southport on 11 September 2015 on a one-month loan,[17] and made his debut a day later in a 2–1 away defeat to Forest Green Rovers.[18] Davies was recalled by Preston on 20 October 2015, to provide cover for injured defensive players,[19] having made nine appearances for Southport.[18]

On 7 January 2016, Davies joined Newport County of League Two on a one-month youth loan,[20] subsequently extended until the end of 2015–16.[21] On 2 January 2017, Davies joined League One club Fleetwood Town on loan for the remainder of 2016–17.[22] He made his debut for the club on the same day, starting a 1–0 away win over Shrewsbury Town.

Never heard of him, however he only has to be better than Williams and Phillips and its a good move.

Welcome to the club lad.
Apparently he played against Man City in the Cup last year and impressed, The lad just needs to realise that no one expects him to be the second coming of Alan Hansen or big Virgil, if he just helps keep the ball out of our net he’ll do fine.

Not heard of him...but then again we have not heard of Andy Robbo before he steps into Melwood for the first time too.

Welcome Ben...it's OFFICIAL now

Something strangely exciting about buying someone from the lower leagues. Also useful to have a left footer. Guessing he's seen as a stop gap but would be great if he can step up and cement himself as a credible 4th choice. Robbo was apparently bought in as a stop gap and we all know how that turned out.

Welcome to the club Davis. Don't expect a whole lot from him, but as others have said as long as he can keep the ball out of the net he'll be good enough for the time being.

And who knows, with a bit of luck, he might turn out to be another Robertson.

Don’t quite agree that none of us knew about Robby before he arrived at Melwood. Don’t be so assumption just because your radar was a bit on the slow side   Perhaps I watched a bit more of Hull than you. The lad always showed that he was very useful. Says a bit more about Klopp’s loyalty to the very questionable Moreno than Robbo being a stop gap.

As for Ben I can honestly say I know absolutely feck all about the lad other than he definitely isn’t made of glass. GOOD LUCK BEN !! There is a long term position there for somebody who has the ability to stamp their authority and prove themselves.

Buying Ben Davies baffles me, If he ain't given a shot in this Crisis at the back we've got then don't think he ever will. Maybe Klopp has seen him in training and don't rate him.
