Just to let you know, as one of the top four leagues in the official UEFA rankings we are seeded alon with all the teams from Spain, Italy and France, therefore we can draw dutch, german balgium etc, but they too are seeded on another teir, leaving the more likely opponents to come from eastern europe or the old soveit union.

Its not that hard, and Newcastle were this seson the only seeded team not to qualify thru the play offs in the ten year history of the CL.

what about UEFA cup you're having a laugh,

cos if Newcastle can't get a result gainst us and Villa draw or win agianst the mancs then the Toon finsih 6th which isn't a UEFa cup spot because of Millwall taking it for being finalists in the Fa Cup final, and the mancs have already qualified for Cl so that spot goes to Millwall (I think thats how it works, correct me if im wrong)

we're not certain of 4th yet. we could still miss out if we lose 4-0, and villa win 5-0. Naaaaaahhhhhh! We're there, and it feels great.

As important a result for LFC since last seasons debacle at Chelsea.

I agree with Stu, a GOOD day and in some ways poignant that we are actually celebrating 4th ??? Nevertheless its absolutly vital for LFC to finish 4th for 3 rwasons....

1. CL

2. Michaels Staying

3. It makes us even more attractive to potential transfer targets

See Lee Bowyers Face , Laugh ? I nearly bought a ROUND :p

definitely agree with those three reasons dalglish!

i want to add another one:
4. no more of those stupid sunday afternoon matches, i hate when we play sundays and much prefer the saturday games, also hated thursday night kick offs!

yeah im delighted with the fourth place but its nothing to be going around cheering and singing about! ok a while ago i was worried we would be in newcastles position now and have a chance of not even getting into europe which would have been disastrous!

but were there now houllier will make sure we dont screw up the qualifier, and we can chase the big names now as well as having a big transfer kitty,

i would definitely go after mexes immediately we need him to partner hyypia and champions league football is what the guy is after so he wants to achieve things not happy to just go through the motions of just playing football i like that same ambition gerrard and owen have! (gallas wont leave chelski but id prob prefer mexes!)
houllier now knows its do or die, he wont ****** up with transfers this summer i guarantee it cisse and mexes would be brilliant and a really good right midfielder joaquin or torres id love!

plus next year we'll have kewell back to full form after his summer break and ankle injury, plus finnan will establish himself as our right back cos he will be over injuries and well rested! so they will be like two new signings, the same with kirkland he'll be well rested and establish himself as our no1 keeper and englands no1.

looking forward to next season already :D

relieved to say the least on obtaining fourth place and glad the season is just about over. it is one which i would rather forget.

we have a lot to look forward to next season imo. the new signings WILL be good ones. if houllier has not learned by now then he never will.
