Poor quality of officials ,interpretation of rules and the clear absence of common sense is appalling ....VAR has killed the game for me

Shoot me for saying it but I think VAR got the Bobby handball right last night. I saw a load of comments complaining about it, it hit Dier's hand first... But Bobby moved his arm towards the ball to control it. Clear as day.

I don't think Bobby moved his arm in order to control the ball, think he was just trying to balance himself in the tussle with Dier. The slow-mo made it look like he did it intentionally.

First of all how far back do you have to go? Lets’s say our goalie takes a goal kick from the wrong spot, we proceed to pass the ball around for a couple of minutes before scoring a goal, does it still count? Secondly and much more important it hits Dyer’s hand first, he has his hands all over Bobby (clear foul) and then hits Bobby’s hand yet that is deemed a foul on Bobby. Had it been pulled back and a foul issued to Bobby then the question would be why not let advantage continue, ref had to rule for Spurs just because his poor refereeing didn’t flag a foul on the first incident.

Unfortunately both the VAR decisions were correct

Bobby moved his arm towards to the ball and it helped him control the ball - it was a deliberate act

Ings disallowed goal yesterday was a demonstration of the way VAR is ruining football. Forensic investigation to the very last millimetre is ridiculous. If the technology determining when the ball was kicked is out by a millisecond in favour of Danny then it is a goal. Obviously we don’t want officials making mistakes but nonsense like this needs to be eradicated from the VAR process.

In these absurdly close situations the attacker should get the benefit of the doubt otherwise we'll have have any excitement. The FA's end game seems to be that every game will finish 0-0.

It's now that all managers and fans of every club need to stand as one , including the Aston Villa manager and fans , and unite as one voice condemning that Var decision and the numerous other wrong decisions that have contaminated the game....Only when these pathetic officials are brought to book will we get our game back....

It's destroying the game you don't even celebrate the goal now cause ya know var will get involved somewhere.
Offside needs to be clear and obvious offside simple as that, this finger nail by mm or an armpit is pathetic

Exactly, it’s taken the spontaneity out of the game, years ago if a goal went in you glanced at the linesman and if his flag wasn’t up you went nuts, these days though goal celebrations are pretty much broken down into 2 stages spread over 2 or 3 minutes, sometimes even longer.
Maybe you could accept it (personally I wouldn’t but at least there’d be an argument for it) if VAR eradicated all wrong decisions and controversies but if anything its creating even more controversy.
The great thing about football compared to other sports was that it was fast, simple and fluid, the game flowed, it wasn’t stop start like say American football, cricket or rugby but now footy is slowing itself down and bogging itself down in boring on field analysis (ref’s walking to side lines to gawp at tv screens a la American footy etc while players stand around with their hands on their hips).

It’s supposed to be clear and obvious ...... if you can’t decide after 10 seconds then it isn’t clear and obvious .... if it takes minutes then you are just looking for something that isn’t there...cheating comes to mind

The VAR report on the assassination of JFK has just been made public. There were 14 gunmen on the grassy knoll, 3 shots were fired from the book depository all from different windows and the US secret agent who jumped on the back of Kennedy's car to shield him was really Russian and poisoned him with novichok.

I thought it was Lee Harvey Oswald mate, along with hundreds of millions of others. Thankfully VAR has clarified that we're all wrong.
