MAN CITY A- 04/01

After that we've got a decent run uptil we face Mannure in Feb.
Also depends if we progress in the FA cup. If we do i really hope we get ab easier tie.

I can see us slipping up in one of the first 3 games (i hope not!) But most probably we'll get 7 points. What we then have to do is beat City! That is a head to gead and the most important fixture...
City seems to have easier fixtures than us. they are playing Crystal Palace, Leicester, Southampton in their run up.

The festive period is actually quite kind to us this year. Unlike previous years we don’t play two games in three days, and only once do we have to play with only 2 recovery days. The most demanding period was Everton to Napoli and that’s part of why Klopp rotated so heavily against Burnley. I think we’ll see only one or two changes per game until the end of Jan apart from the FA Cup game.

12/01 Brighton A
19/01 Palace H
30/01 Leicester H

04/02 Westham A
09/02 Bournemouth H

19/02 Bayern H UCL

A decent run of fixtures uptil the Bayern game. If we want the title we have to get maximum points. Leicester could be a slightly tricky game and also West ham A they have been ok under new management.

Beat Brighton and we go 7 points clear, with City playing Wolves (away) on monday.

City are at home. Wolves have generally been decent against the big boys and we may have handed them a little confidence boost.

A win against Brighton now is massive, we've got to get back on track now.

No more slip ups if we don't want to be caught - If City get back to within a point the pressure on us will be immense.
I don't think we have the experience or know how to cope with it.

12 pts out of 12 please and let the pressure mount up on them.

Those games are beautifully spaced out, should allow time for alot of our players to recover from injury and fatigue, this is where Klopp defines himself as either a good or a great manager, he needs to have them fit and hyper-motivated for these matches, if we win all 5 we'll be in a very strong position for the league this year, lose momentum, drop off and City will take advantage. I'm optimistic this year, we've got a better squad than ever before in the Pl, a great keeper, centre-back, great holding mid in Fabinho, multiple interchangeable midfielders than know our systems inside out and great strikers. I love the way we play this year, dominate possession, press, intuitive, fluid passing, I may be in the minority but I'm not too bothered about Bayern, we should go for it, the momentum helped us in 00/01 and 05 but the league is where it's at for me, I think we'll win it this year.

Schedule looks pretty good right up to Man Utd away on 24th Feb so it will generally be best team out in the next 7 games. Matip and Gomez will only miss Brighton and possibly Palace but will both be back for Leicester on the 30th Jan assuming they don’t have any setbacks.

Both Matip and Gomez might be fit enough to make it into the saturday squad, according to Radio 5

Nice post PC, that lay's the next couple of months out perfectly.
I see Fernandinho is questioning wether we've got the bottle to win the title, we've got to expect comments like that, they just come with the territory, when you are on top thats what happens.

It would be interesting to see how City keep up the pressure if we win our next 5 games.

If we win all 5 and against Mannure it will be a gigantic step towards the title. A nice first leg lead vs Bayern would be welcome aswel. :D

Was wondering the same. Also, how come we have 9 days recovery before the Bayern match?

They just thumped Burton for nine. So I'd say they'll keep up just fine...
