Earned his buttons in the Champions league final, with some top saves. I dread to think what would have happened if Karius was in goal.

We currently have arguably the best keeper in Europe, the best CB, VVD, the best left back Robbo, and soon the best right back TAA.

Good stuff :buttrock

I think if we get to the European cup final again you can be assured this fella isn't going to have a brain fart and throw the ball into his own net...    Twice. He's got an air of class about him and a fine beard.

First GK in history to do that in a single season I believe. And to think the PL had Ederson in the team of the season instead of him   . Dimwits.

Probably best GK in the world at the moment.

Is the Copa America over? I thought there were still one or two games left? How can AB be awarded the GG when there are still games to play?

There's only one game left to play and no one else can reach him.

Oh, right, when you say can't reach him though how many would he have to concede in the final to lose the GG? Is it 10 or something?

Golden glove is for clean sheets rather than number of goals scored. Alisson hasn't conceded a goal since Newcastle away on 4th May. 9 clean sheets in a row going into the Copa America final.

Ah, I'm with you now. Thanks for clearing that up PC, for some reason I always thought the GG went to the keeper who conceded the fewest goals. TBH I'm not really one for these individual awards, they didn't have them years ago, trophies in the cabinet are the only awards I care about.

Just proves what a great keeper we have, it's only right that players receive recognition for their performances. Do you also not agree with golden boot or pfa player of the year Yakka

They weren't that big a deal when I was growing up mate, being the top scorer was pretty prestigious but there wasn't any official award or recognition or anything. Same with this Ballon d'hor thing,
Football has become the new rock n roll though since Sky's got involved, with these 24nr rolling sports news channels footballers aren't just footballers anymore they are bona fide celebrities, the rise in importance of these individual awards ties into all that imo. It's the cult of celebrity.
