Why are people even concerned about how much he will cost? What difference does it make? Its all a fantasy anyway, look at pogba, lukaku, walker etc. Im sure there are loads of overpriced players out there. So what? We need a good central defender and if he does his job he will justify the fee.
Andy Carrolls goal against the sh'ite at wembley was well worth £35 million!
:bowdown

Is he worth a world record fee for a defender also? He hasn't played that well this season, hope Klopp knows what he is doing.
How about a goalkeeper as well Jurgen.

The world's gone mad... a defender for 75 million pounds??? Didn't we get less than that for Suarez??
Southampton feckin laughing to the bank... they gonna use that 75 million to buy at least 3 very good players and those players will then be sold for enormous profits... Why don't we just tap up their scouts...

If Jurgen thinks he's worth it, and I, you and the dog knows our defence needs shoring up then I'm all for it.

Welcome Virgil!  :buttrock

Sure it's a lot of money and personally I think he is being overrated, but Klopp has been pretty spot on so far with his transfers so I'm feeling good about this move. And kudus to the board for stumping up the cash and Edwards for getting this done early, albeit after the club messed up in the summer.

I'm with you Thommo.

Too many f*cking accountants in this forum !

Whilst, with others, I do wonder if £75 million is a hell of a fee for the fella, I'm glad we've got him.

Can only imagine the reaction from those same people who are whinging about how much he cost if Man City (or others) had steamed in and signed him ahead of us.

EG "club lacks ambition blah blah blah"   "f*ck off FSG blah blah blah"  "Nutcase Klopp blah blah blah"

Klopp is deffo building something here, about time some of us recognised that.

AND STOPPED BANGING ON ABOUT THE MONEY WE HAVE OR HAVE NOT SPENT   :kungfu:

So, because you "watch a lot of football" you're an authority on what a players worth ?

Mate, if you had an extra vertebrae (or a longer dick) I'm sure you'd be spending more time sucking yourself off instead of watching football    :D

TBH as expensive as he is I'd much rather see the club do this (spend a lot on one player) than fritter away tens of millions on the Assidi's and Borini's of this world.

Woof, how did you know what I get up to in my spare time! You got me there matey :D

Well if FSG are are showing this intent to blow seriously inflated cash for Unproven players at top level, maybe they should dig deep and bid 130m for Harry Kane and 100m for Thomas Lemar. Because that's what we'll need to topple Man City next season for the league, especially if Coutinho departs.
We're all entitled to our opinions, that's mine :p

So you value Harry Kane at just £130 million ?   :lookaround

In todays market, which you're obviously choosing to ignore, I very much doubt that IF Spurs sold him before the start of next season, he'd go for anything less than an absolute bare minimum of £150 million, wouldn't surprise me if it was closer to the fee PSG paid for Neymar.
