They're closer to last placed WBA than to City.

If we beat the toon and City beat Chelsea we will be 7 points ahead of them. Getting a 7 point cushion at this stage is crucial which will help us cement that lucrative spot.

There will be no qualification round for the champions league as 2nd-4th will go into the proper.

Yay!!

We have to beat Newcastle as well. Let's hope the boys have got their woollies on.

9 games to go it is very tight between us, mannure and Spurs. This battle will go right to the end. I think an important factor could also be how far each of the teams go into the champions league.

Next up, the BIG second place showdown with Manure.

The three players I would rest for the Porto Match are Firmino, Salah and VVD. The rest you can mix it up in there, maybe put Solanke in there.

We haven't beaten the scum for about four seasons (not including the Europa League) and it's about time we gave them a serious tonking.

Let's hope Crystal Palace beat Manure Monday night..., and then we can all high five.  :buttrock

City beat Chelsea 1-0 so we are now 7 points clear of chelsea. Just need Palace to get something off mannure tomorrow.

Chelsea are out of it for me. Lost again today and looked just as bad as arsenal.

We're now 7 points clear of 5th and can't see us dropping enough points for the chavs to catch us

I was just wondering if City do replicate this season next year how the heck are we and the others meant to keep up with them!

Yeah, we have a nice cushion between us and 5th place, so a top 4 finish is now ours to lose really. I'd be happy if we can nick a draw against the mancs next week, of course I wouldn't mind shaming them at their own pitch either :D.

As for City, they're a different kind of beast, and I hope they won't continue this form in the following seasons. Knowing us though, it would be just our luck. I wouldn't be surprised if next season we brake some personal Premier League record of points won and still finish second behind City. That's usually how our luck works.

Exactly knowing our luck that is what will probably happen. In normal circumstances we would currently be in a title race well kind of anyway if you shave off 10-12 points with a loss and some draws.

They sill strengthen even more next season and my bet is Pepe will try to go and win everything. This season it will only be the title and league cup because we will win the Champs league :D.

Simple. We replicate them game for game, ie don't lose and then we beat them twice to win the league by 6 points.

That is the only way i guess very very difficult but the only option really, keep up with them toe to toe.

So I do believe it is between us, man u and spurs for the top 4 places. Chelsea has tailed off. Arsenal is hopelessly behind. They will probably finish 6th.
