This guy just couldn't catch a break...looks like hamstring problem even before the actual pre-season starts

It would be his first injury since he missed Aug-Nov 2020 with a knee problem. I didn't see it but minor muscle strains are pretty common in pre-season so hopefully it's not a big issue.

Looks like he'll be out for atleast 2 months. He's turned into another Sturridge with his injury record. All those injuries will have took its toll on his body, we'll probably never see him reach his 2018 level again.

To be fair he was at Arsenal too

Off to Villa apparently. Like Keita, hopefully another one who has a bit more luck with injuries going forward.

Was often injured at Arsenal and many questioned his injury record before he signed for us. He was a full back at Arsenal and left because he wanted to play midfield, some how he was supposed to get injured less from midfield and that never happened. Another player that was mentally weak, in my opinion never really contributed.

Him and Keita had glimpses of form, only period I could recall of Ox was during UCL journey when we spanked City at home. Otherwise both have been horse Shyte and spent most of the time vaping in rehab, good riddance.

That injury against Roma pretty much ended his Liverpool career, he was flying before that. Very unlucky.

I’d say “flying” is a bit of a stretch. I don’t think he ever raised his level past “decent” and that was at his best. I always saw him as confidence player and he never hit that level consistently enough.

Good riddance to him as well imo. He was pretty average with the odd decent game thrown in. His record with us was worse than it was at arsenal. Certainly not worth the Fee or wages we paid.

Short memories some , just before that Roma injury he was playing week in week out and was superb , he also did well when filling in for Mo or Mane when the AFCON came around - he was the total opposite to Naby and his injuries did hurt him badly

Decent maybe but never more than a squad player, and a squad player that is always injured is not useful at all. Naby was a better player than Ox.

I accept that players get injured, I accept that some players aren't good enough. What gets on my titties is when we keep them for 3 years after we should get rid and over-play the remaining squad to the point where we fail to qualify for CL.

We will see how he gets on at Villa next season and how many games they manage to get out of him.  If him and Keita both do well then it will only make us sick we didn't sell.  We have paid decent enough sums in the past for lads with a year to run. Look at what Chelsea are looking for Mount.  Even if we only got 10 mil for the pair and their wages off the books it would of enabled us to maybe bring in someone like Thuram or Kone last season.

Sad this one didn't work out, he looked good in his first season with us. But the injuries have done him in.

Villa will be lucky to get 15 games out of him next season.
