Apparently they can't afford to pay players salaries that they owed but someone think they still have the cloud to buy up every players out there  :no  :veryangry

I don’t think they still have the same lure they used to have. Liverpool is a better proposition (weather excluded) than Barcelona right now, their results have been poor, they haven’t played players their full salaries, threatening to sell players that want what they owe…. Who would want to play for them.

And as for Trent, he has become a world class player and his value should be well north of 100m, quite a statement for a right back.

Barca owe De Jong 17 million in back salary which is why he's not signing for United.  They've got no 3 year plan to recover and rebuild their team, they're bust so thing this story is just bla-bla to keep their own fans happy.

I know he's having a poor season but let's not forgot how good he's been since he came through the academy. If two football management greats and one of the best RBs to ever play the game are fans then you're clearly a good player.

Fabio Capello and Arrigo Sacchi pick Trent in their ideal World Cup XIs - https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/f ... o-25335865

"I don't understand why. He has everything: quality, dribbling, pace, but it's always the same story, they say you are not defensive enough and you remain out," Cafu told Football Italia.

"Somebody used to say the same about Roberto Carlos and me, but I think we won something. Unfortunately, full-backs are too robotic these days, they get the ball, pass it, and run, I don't see movements without the ball and no one-two passes."

Defended him a lot but some of his play today was appalling. The lack of effort getting back for their 4th was unacceptable. I can accept players going through poor form or having bad season but a lack of effort is inexcusable.

Become concerned about the RB area because although he has been amazing for us in the last couple of seasons but I don't know if he has just played too much at a young age and is now suffering but something isn't quite right. Honestly, it was nothing more than a light jog to try and get to Grealish for that goal and he just gave up towards the end. Grealish wasn't miles away from him.

I suspect it's a polite way to give the lad a 3 week rest before the serious half of the season begins....
