Sides will target Robbo ? Why when he is best left back in the league ?

And who is the option we can sign ?

You know what flank I was making reference to and there are plenty of viable options out there to get a quality RB in before the window closes  :glare:

Like who RBG ?

We are a club who work in a self sufficient budget so any purchase needs to be someone that we really need

We have one of the best right backs in the league , we have the current Brazil right back , we have Gomez another very good right back who hasn’t been found wanting in the role , and then at 4th choice we have Milner who filled in when needed. Then you add in two highly rated young players who will be in the first team squad- so that’s 6 possible players at right back - the manager is not going to spend crucial money on an area where we clearly are strong and don’t need cover.

Now if you said left back and there was one available then yep , or a striker or a guy who can play in a 10 role then you can see Klopp going for one - but a right back ? Nope - would be just a waste of money

Ricardo Pereira or Eder Militao, either would be quality additions ,so my question was a pertinent one ,why cant we bring in a legitimate RB rather than play defenders out of position ?

Just to add, Gomez is a CB ,Fabinho is a midfielder and Milner is also a midfielder and if the Brazilian manager wants to play Fabinho at RB then that's his choice
but at Monaco and  Liverpool his position was that of a ' predominant DM albeit for his short stint at CB.

I just don't want this team to have a weakness at such an important position and no amount of posturing from you will alter my opinion on that ,we need to buy and we need to use this window to strengthen.

Gomez has played a lot of games at RB for us - and have played well

Fabinho was a right back for most of his playing career until about 2 years ago maybe - he is number one RB ahead of Eder

That’s three options that are very good for the area

Leicester are not going to sell one of their best in Jan window unless a club pays big money - why would we pay big money for a spot that the manager doesn’t see as an issue ? And Eder won’t be moving until the summer and possibly to Madrid and again for big money

We don’t “need” to do anything of the sort at RB and we won’t - no amount of foot stamping will change how the manager or the club works- just because you can’t see the fact we have no issue at right back ( hence why the manager allowed one to leave ) - Klopp doesn’t just spend in areas where it’s not needed and that’s why right now he isn’t going to buy a right back - Klopp will work with his squad - it’s what he was successful with at Dortmund and it’s how he is being successful with right now with us.

Benny Benny Benny ,we have no recognized RB available ,we would just be moving players around when we don't have to ,we're desperately short of cover in that area of a specialized RB, surely you can grasp basic math ? We had two RB's and now 'through injury and a quite ridiculous loan in the window' we now have none!  :D

We have an “international” right back available - I don’t understand how you keep struggling with that concept , we have Brazil’s number one right back available , the guy is a right back - are you incapable of understanding that some player can be specialists at more than one position - it’s called adaptability.

And how can someone who was behind 4 other players going on loan be ridiculous - why do people ignore facts and just keep stamping their feet expect one of the best managers in the world to change his thinking.

We have plenty of cover at right back - hence why our manager let a guy who has played 1/2 in 18 months go

I swear some don’t understand our manager and how he works.

And he also said that TAA isn’t as bad as reported , won’t make the Palace game but will take it Day at a day from them - so move away from the panic button

That's great news, the lad is nowhere near the finished article but you wouldn't expect him to be at 20.
He's played at a World Cup, appeared in a CL final and he will, barring disaster, be involved in a title run in this season as well so he is gaining lots of valuable experience, he'll be a big asset to this club over the next 10-15 years.

Klopp said he was 50/50 for starting against Palace, so looks like he'll be back in time for our next league game in 10 days  :buttrock

He was class last night. It makes a huge difference to your attacking play when you have fullbacks who can pass and cross with real quality. Truth is that at the top teams (which we can now say we are), the fullbacks spend more time being part of the attack then the defence so there in point having fullbacks who are “solid”. Trent brings another dimension to our attack and I can see Hoever going on to become his deputy initially (before moving to CB) as Clyne is sold in the summer and Milner is phased out next season as his contract comes to an end.

TAA is more about speed, athleticism, cutting in and taking a shot at goal. As long as he is 'decent' at delivering a cross or a simple pass, he can function as a full back.

Oh dear.

I thought this season his crosses were lacking accuracy, but it came together versus Watford.

Milners contract ends in June this year and he should be let go imo. Hopefully its with a league medal to reward him for his service but we do need to upgrade.
