We have never won the league without a Scottish player so you never know Andy could be the missing piece in the jigsaw. He is quick, athletic and likes to get forward so he should suit our high energy game.

I like Klopp's eye for a player. He probably was not the first choice/dream signing but I would bet that he will be successful and get better. If he is replacing Moreno who looks like being sold that it is certainly an upgrade. I hope he becomes a legend at the club.

Hope the fella does well with us , but is he really an upgrade on Moreno or even Flanagan ? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile elsewhere
Manchester City have agreed a 57m euros (£51.15m) fee for Monaco's 23-year-old left-back Benjamin Mendy. (L'Equipe - in French)

I know it's early, but..... :D

This guy looks the business. Great composure on the ball, superb crossing ability and a decent positioning. Moreno, pack your bags son...

His final ball seems far superior to both Milners and Moreno's. Only watched the highlights of the game so not sure how he defended today.

He didn't have much defending to do. But towards the end it was Milner who was sitting deeper which was a bit strange and suggests Klopp has more faith in his defensive abilities.

Delighted for Roberston. He really stretched their defence with some excellent deliveries from wide, clever one-twos and runs inside. More please

I really shouldn't jinx the lad by throwing any superlatives his way this early into his career, but I haven't seen such a dangerous LB since Dennis Irwin (for those of you who remember) our chief tormentor used to have the Kops nerves shredded with the severity of those whipped in crosses.

Looks like a good player. But will have to wait and see. Most of them play hard in their first season, only to fizzle out later... but he is refreshing...

Hopefully it won't be long before we see him doing this in a red shirt!
