Seems technically good and pacey. Looks more like a Sturridge type player to me. Finishing seems hit and miss though. Among the youth players he looks good but can he step up to the senior level?

To cut it as a Liverpool striker, you cant just look good among the youth players. Remember michael owen was head and shoulder above his peers...

Ngog, Pacheco, Yesil, Nemeth, Brouwer and many more young promising forwards failed here. I hope Solanke proves us wrong. One thing we must admit, Klopp is good at finding talent so we never know maybe this lad will do well

I don't know anything about the lad other than his youtube vids and imo he doesn't look any better than Origi. Its a bit deflating also that this is our first piece of business and it smacks of the same auld stuff.
Still it isn't the lads fault and hopefully he turns out to be a gem but a different kind of gem to Kevin Stewart  :nod
Welcome to Liverpool Dominic  :nod

The negativity on this forum is downright fkg legendary !! Bayern Munich were also interested in the lad which suggest he has some obvious talent.

Welcome to LFC Dominic.

For the price we will pay we cannot lose, it is a no brainer. No doubt there will be more transfers to come so before I complain about the owners I'll wait till all business is done.

I know a few Chelsea fans who are gutted to have lost him so that's good enough for me. I know he had a decent record in the youth England sides so hope he lives up to the hype.

Obviously we need first teamers as well but no need to neglect the future as well

It's all about getting the balance between young hopefuls and seasoned professionals. Sign a few young prospects by all means but balance it up with a couple of major players.
I'm sure Mr.Klopp has it covered.

He's currently away at the U20 World Cup and is having a great tournament. Here is in the semi final: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DExjmge ... e=youtu.be

Final is Sunday morning on BBC2 at 10.50am for anyone who is interested.

Solanke playing well in the U20 world cup final. Strong and determined is how I'd best describe his 1st half performance.

I am  more impressed with Englands midfielder Onomah (Spurs) looks a great prospect.

Hes a bigger beast than Origi, really powerful boy and could be a surprise package.

Solankes first job will be to compete with Origi and hopefully that brings the best out of both. We do sometimes lack physicality in the final third and he will bring that.

We all want the big signings but at 3m its nothing really, Solanke has to prove Chelsea wrong not to have done more to keep him there.

I was little underwhelmed to be honest. He is big and strong but does not look that technically gifted or has lightning pace. He'll get bigger and stronger but not quicker. Even the goals he scored seemed like scuffed shots rather than driven. He will no doubt improve but does not seem like a " Klopp type player" to me, time will tell!

Klopp will mould him a bit I'm sure. He's got a full pre season for Klopp to do his voodoo on him and come the new season he could be a regular.
