Zlatans wages are worth every penny.
Won them league cup.
Has bought them back in contention for top 4 and are still in 2 cups.
Yup considering how much mancs spent they should be competing for the title but if they finish 2-4 and add few cups its a very good season especially comparing it to their recent times.

Mancs will keep winning trophies whilst we continue to say our fav line " There is always next season".

The truth is LFC lost it's balls years ago, we don't take risks. All our buys are middle of the road, medium ability players - Lallana, Origi, Can, Hendo, Firmino etc... which is reflected in our footy. The only decent player was recommended/sold to us by Sr Rafael Benitez.

They are all good players Reg, they've proven it against the best teams in the division, they are not consistent players though that's the problem, they can't keep churning out performance after performance for weeks and months on end.

Paisley was the best manager in English football history (honest opinion -3 euro cups in a few years ).

Joe Fagan had no managerial experience, Dalglish had no managerial experience , Souness had only managed a rich rangers in Scotland against a bankrupt Celtic , Evans had no experience, let's try co-managers , houllier couldn't even qualify a good French team for the World Cup (won the whole damn thing without him 4 years later )

Then it's 2005 and LFC are a team from the past like Ajax . Very sad , extremely poor choices in manager for 20 years. I see no comeback .

Yup good on Rafa. Can't wait to see how he does in the prem with the Toon.
I think he will get them into the top half.

Speaking of Rafa i was just wondering what a side he had with us during 07-09.

Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise , Macherano , Gerrard, Alonso, Pennant,Torres, Kuyt.

9 would go straight into this current side. I was just take Mane and Couts.

Arbeloa, Agger also available...

He just needed better wide men.
Look how solid our defense was.

The defense could take care of themselves but just to add the cherry Macha was protecting them.
If we had that backline and Macha we would win the league.

Spurs are improving though under Pochetino.
I would say the top falls under the following categories and Spurs are ahead of us. Last few yrs

1) City, Chelsea
2) Spurs, Arsenal
3) Man utd
4) Liverpool
5) Everton

Pochetino has done remarkably at Spurs.

The bench would also be his players, Hamman, Bennyoon etc..

It will be a long time before we see another midfield as good as that one again, Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano, all in their early to mid 20's and full of energy and running.
No wonder we beat the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona on their home turf.
