He's a top young talent mate, and he's only going to get better, his potential has no ceiling,he's 17 and in a few years he will be frightening the life out of defenders in this league.

'No rest for the match-winner'

Wales 1-0 Austria

Ben Woodburn, speaking to Sky Sports: "The ball just came out of the air and I just tried to shoot it as quickly as I could.

"It's a great feeling, I couldn't ask for much more from the fans.

"I won't sleep tonight."

Gareth Bale: "We won't let him sleep tonight."

John Hartson
Former Wales striker at Cardiff City Stadium

If Ben Woodburn starts getting into that Liverpool side and plays like that, then Wales will have to start him, if he proves too good not to start.

Chris Coleman is sensible and will not rush him.

But he looked so comfortable out there. If he's good enough - get him in there

Coleman

"It was a great game for Ben Woodburn to make his debut in - they don't come tougher than that.

"I know his strike was fantastic but his all-round composure was great too."

According to fans that were at the game ,after his man of the match performance against Seville for the U19's Gerrard jokingly bowed to Woodburn when he left the field, that's some praise from the best midfielder ever to grace the Premier League. Woodburn got 2 assists and was involved with everything good that came from Gerrards young charges in a comprehensive 4-0 win.

Ben has signed a long term deal

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... rpool-deal

I really want to see more of him but sadly when will we??

EFl cup was a good chance for him to get some game time. I would like to see him come off the bench in games and get few mins under his belt. Problem is what are we then meant to do with Solanke because he is in the same box trying to get game time. Forget to also mention the one and only Studge.

Ben signing a new deal and Rhian's form for England are the only bright spots in an otherwise s[hit] week.
I still can't believe that capitulation last Sunday, look at West Ham last night, okay Kane wasn't playing but the likes of Ali, Ericsson, Son, Alderweired, Sissoko, Dembele, Rose, Trippier etc etc all did. Our own incompetence made Spurs look much better than they really are.

Signed a new contract, yes. But I can't see the lad getting game time in the first team, anytime soon. Maybe in the reserves in a couple of seasons time.
As far as the first team is concerned, you still have the likes of Danny Ings, Solanke and Sturridge who are not even getting a lot of game time.
maybe in a few years time, but you don't know where we will be in a few years time.
I don't compare him to Michael Owen, the lad is NOT in Owens class......Yet!
So join the que lad.....
