Top 4 is currently separated by 3 points and I'd think we'd do very well to finish in the top 4 this season. Chelsea's form has been magnificent. Man City will always be challenging with the players they have and Arsenal has the benefit of having that team for 2 complete seasons. We are doing very well but the last two games for me brought us down to earth abit. You could see how other teams could park the bus and we would struggle. Our injuries are putting a toll on us as well. We have Lallana, Sturridge and now Coutinho out. I am just not sure how we can maintain the intensity of scoring 4-5 goals anymore. We need to learn how to win ugly which we did against Sunderland. Origi needs to re-discover his top form. Our midfield needs to be more dominating and take control of games. Firmino needs to step up in Coutinho's absence (he seem to play better with Coutinho). Maybe we need a boost from the transfer market. I don't dare to think about a title challenge. I think we would do well if we finish top 4.

It always was unrealistic to expect us to brush sides away 4 or 5 nil every week mate, as the season is 9 months long every side will go through dips in form and have injury problems and it's the sides that cope with those problems the best that will be there fighting for the title at the end.
We are doing okay, Lallana will be back soon (which will help the midfield) and we still have a decent run of fixtures ahead of us over the next month or so (Bournemouth, West Ham, Boro, Everton and Stoke) which gives us an opportunity to pick up points even if we are not quite firing on all cylinders.
Not having any European football will be a big help to us as well, wait till the new year when the FA Cup gets going and the knockout stages of the CL/Europa League begins, our rivals will be dropping plenty of points themselves.

Table currently

1) Arsenal   15--34--(Gd21)
2) Chelsea   14--34--(Gd21)
3) LIVERPOOL 14--30--(Gd17)
4) Man City  15--30--(Gd13)

We can gain a 3 point lead over City.
Must win tomorrow.

Our points average has slipped to 2.06 per game, tough run of fixtures coming up soon as well.

Typical Liverpool, all those tough fixtures and away games and we come out of it top of the league.
An easy enough run of games and we end up 6 points off top.

The good news is that we are still on course for a top 4 finish.

The bad news:  Most of the top teams are in decent form at the moment and we seem to be regressing a bit lately despite the win last night.

The next 4 or 5 games may well determine how our season will go.

The wins against Boro and Everton have lifted our average up from 2.06 points per game to 2.18 points per game.
Heading in the right direction again.

I think as it stands at the moment, us, City and Arsenal will be challenging for the title. The title of the best of the rest. The way Chelsea is churning out wins is ridiculous.

Or Us, City and Arsenal will be fighting over 2nd/3rd/4th.
If Mancs form continues and they manage to beat us at Old Trafford then i can see them cracking into champs league positions.
