If I trusted Shaqiri to be postionally disciplined I'd try him out as a CAM. He's got quick feet, he's agile, and he's good at shooting from range.

Maybe he'll try him there in one of the friendlies.

Exactly...

I certainly don't want to devalue his contribution

BUT !

Am I the only one that's often screaming at the TV because the fella has failed or just ignored the opportunity to  pass to a team mate in a far better goal scoring position ?

He's the weakest link of the front three, the link up play between Salah and Firmino last season was  excellent.

Yes he's a bit selfish but he looks one of our sharpest players in the first two games and three goals, whereas Bobby and Mo have looked a bit off the pace so far..

Mane for me thankfully to the rest of the footballing world will always be underrated - his work ethic is outstanding , positional sense of being in the right place at the right time is something I have seen since the years of Aldo.

At times he frustrates because he does go a bit too far with the ball or not pass to an open teammate but one thing I did notice is he only seems to do it when the team is winning , when it’s 0-0 or a goal is needed he seems to make the right choice, for me he is one of our most important players and as crucial as both Bobby and Mo - brilliant player who hopefully we get a new contract signed ASAP

Have to say I was shouting at the telly again yesterday.

We're bearing down on Spurs goal, three on two with Mane in possession, Salah to his right and a slower Keita to his left. Salah is in a perfect position to receive a pass and go on to probably score but Mane waits and waits and waits (for Keita to catch up ?) before finally passing to Keita who was in a far less favourable position than Salah

For all the good stuff he does It's moments like that when Mane completely does my head in

incident at 1:10 into video

Judging from the subsequent TV view of our manager, it did his head in as well !

You have a point, Mane Should have passed it much quicker, BUT also, Salah had 2/3 decent chances in the Second half, out on the Right where he came inside on his left foot and had a shot but both times he hit it straight at the keeper. He hasn't got his shooting boots on yet.

Best player we have in the side. Waaaaaaaay too much being made of missed chances. The front 3 will get it right sooner or later and some unfortunate side will be on for a long afternoon.

I think he knows himself he should have passed. Looking at it again I think he was just trying to set up Keita for a goal and maybe a confidence boost. Not an ideal situation for the team but Klopp has bound to let him know it. He was lucky at the end with that pen shout on Son but overall he had a good game and so far this season the best of the front 3. His work rate is unbelievable for the team and I think this season will be his best yet for us.

Wasn't the fans booing him because he was being ball greedy and making bad decisions?

Mane does seem to be the emotional type. I think he let's things get to him easy.
