Why not give Ward a chance as our number one!?
Migs and Karius are going to cost us points this season. I'm betting on it.

The thing about the concussion is he seemed perfectly alert when complaining to the ref that he got elbowed, surely immediately after would be the worst effect. In the old days  :) being concussed meant knocked out cold (basically you had to have cartoon birds flying in a circle around your head) but now they broadened the definition to headaches, nausea, feeling dizzy etc. I'm not a doctor so I may be wrong and probably there was an effect but it is a contact sport and the mistakes he made did not seem like they were made because he was in a trance. They were stupid errors that he always looked prone to make, watching him last year.

I don't think he is not good enough because of the mistakes he made in the CL final although I am irritated by them. It is more about the fact that he never filled me with confidence when I watched him play. We need a goalie that makes game changing saves when the team needs it, we need a world class keeper and he is no where near that. Watching Uruguay with their best defense in the World Cup unraveled by a single goalie error reminds me of how important that position is. You can have the best defense in the world but without a top keeper it will merely be average.

70 million for Allison and 100 million for Oblak is ridiculous but it's not my money :grinning:

FSG still don’t appear to see the value in bunging 50m+ at GK and you just cannot prize the money out their hands.

We saw it initially with Reina who they did not want to continue paying over 100k a week through to Mignolet and Karius.

The CL final brought the GK position back to the top of the agenda but rather than do whats clearly required they have closed ranks and used an American specialist to present a theory around concussion, and its Klopps job to convince us all its true. The other thing that is in the way is if Karius is replaced we will potentially be left with 3 GK on contract 4 with the new guy.

Essentially this is a business decision not a football one, if Alisson or Oblak where available for nothing today they would be in our goal next season.

Played quite well today to be fair to him, he didn't have an awful lot to do but he did save a one on one situation and looked omfortable with the ball at his feet. Fans gave him a good reception too.

Yeah. He pretty much got a standing ovation which was nice to see.

I think he should stay in goal until a suitable replacement can be found at the right price.
Talk by some of us paying up to 80m for a keeper is ridiculous.

I think Klopp will be patient and wait for the right alternative. Like finding the right piece of the jigsaw. Just like the keita, VVD, Salah signings etc. Jurgen doesn't strike me as being a "knee jerk" manager.
He currently has three keepers at his disposal, and will utilise them.

Patience is the key.

There's a video of him in the background of a interview with Neil Mellor.. the balls shot into Karius he goes to catch it and he fumbles it going straight through his legs into the net.

This is exactly why he shohldn't be our number one for next season. Not the mistake in the video, but the fact that people are looking for even the smallest of things to throw at him. It's just a video from training, not even made for him, and people are already on his back. What happens if he does something similar in a real game? The abuse and criticism he'll get for even the smallest mistake will ruin him mentally and will lead to even more mistakes. He has only himself to blame for being in such a position mind you, I'm in no way defending him.

Klopp will be taking a massive risk if he does stick with Karius. Like Damjan said there is also that aspect of it aswel.

What is this "concussion" nonsense we are talking about?

Last season we saw him MULTIPLE times fumble the ball.

I can recall on 2 or 3 separate occasions make the same mistake he made in the CL final by parrying a shot into his own goal, which is simply unacceptable for a goal keeper at this level.

Seriously why are we even talking about this? This is NOT a topic for debate or discussion, his career at Liverpool is over.

If Klopp has the stubbornness and stupidity to keep him and he makes another high profile mistake in a final, Klopp should be handing in his resignation. That's how serious this decision would be. It's amazing that some of you don't fully understand the gravity of this situation. :no

Well another error from Karius vs Tranmere. A free-kick 25/30 yards out blasted straight at him, he goes to catch it, it bounces off his chest, and it's a simple tap in for the attacker.

Karius is going to let us down!!

Disgraceful Goalkeeper. Needs to leave our club asap! He'll ruin our season.

I'm very concerned if this guy is gonna be in goal for us at the start of the season.

He has butter fingers and I will be nervous every time a cross comes in or a set piece etc comes anywhere near him.
I'm not saying we need to pay silly money for a keeper. I'd rather have an ageing Pepe Reina in goal than this tool.

Trust me, it will cost us leads/goals in matches next season, especially big matches, I'm certain.

He's amateur at best.
Slightly concerned if Klopp persists with him :nod
