His injury record since joining us is very concerning.

Klopp will need to bring in CB in January, otherwise some very serious questions will be asked of his tenure at the end of the season.

We all knew this could happen if Matip is out then who do we rely on. I'm hoping we are searching for a CB now and snap up a deal as soon as the window opens. Knowing us we probably are still hoping on Van Dijk and will waste another window.

I know I'm just venting but this is just another cluster fck we had coming due to not signing a CB on time... Predictable as Lovern and Moreno defensive mistakes and Hendo zero impact football..Jeez so *****.

Our defence isn't that bad, whether he is injured or not.
Check the stats. Currently 19 conceded in 15 games. Just over 1 goal per game. We have four CB plus also Can, milner etc who help out in defence, so we have enough cover this campaign I feel.

What the verdict on Matip so far ?

Is he good enough for the club ? I've been hearing a lot of slack about him lately . He did quite well when he came in initially but is in a bit of a rough patch at the moment . Still think he''s quality and will come good partnering VVD and could be even better when clyne comes back.

That's not a bad defence? :D ...
"It's alright... It's aaaallll cool... we just need to expect we concede 1 goal every game... sometimes 1 1/2 maybe? That's all..." :D

Hope I'm not tempting fate here but one thing that has happened since we've had Matip and VVD in the middle of our defence is that we don't look anywhere near as vulnerable from set pieces and corners as we used to. Our inability to deal with balls lobbed into our box didnt just dog us it actually haunted us, for years and years as well.
If anything it's the other way round now, whenever we play someone we are the team that looks the most likely to score  from a corner or set piece.
It's sort of gone under the radar but it's a big deal, in the past a lot of the lesser lights of the division used to cause us all sorts of problems and we pi[ss]ed away countless points over the years, it probably even cost us league titles so Jurgen deserves tons of credit for sorting it out and Matip is worth his place next to VVD just for that alone.

I like Matip and he's miles ahead of Lovern on ability. However, like Lovern, he is prone to switching off from time to time or losing concentration.

A regular starter, but we need another CB to keep him on his toes.

What a blow we needed him for this crucial period. Lovren and Klaven must step up now.

Cheer up. He is not that good. He'll just throw Lovren in there.

Awful news, awful timing

I'd say the lad is gutted to be missing out on the run in as he has no WC with Cameroon.
