The same Borini who cant even make the bench more often than not ? Why are we looking to replace Borini is the question many are asking ?

All the more valid when you consider the fact that our starting 11 (and not our squad) is where we need to improve. As far as I'm concerned, Borini is 5th choice behind Sturridge, Balotelli, Origi, and Lambert.

Just to reiterate, atm the players we have who arent considered starting 11 material in midfield and upfront are: Lucas, Allen, Can, Markovic, Lallana, Ibe, Balotelli, Origi, Lambert, Borini, Ings, Aspas.

If we're talking about top4 aspirations I'd be tempted to include one of Henderson & Milner in that list as well. Not sure our transfers going forward should be adding to that list.

Wasn't BR quite some time back talking about how important it is to sign marquee players and no longer squad players? Now he is quiet all of a sudden. I think that the season he had made him lose alot of bargaining power against the owners. Which is just ridiculous. Either support the manager fully or sack him. What we need is the SPINE of the team. A strong and reliable CB, a world class midfielder and a prolific scorer up front. We have quite a selection of exciting wide players but our spine is really weak. Under Rafa, we had a strong spine but weak wide players. If only we could combine Rafa's and BR's teams...

Unfortunately BR has a big mouth and continually has said stuff which has made him look an utter tool later on. Someone must have had a word and told him to pipe down

Welcome to the club kid. At the moment he's an improvement on Borini and not much more. He might turn out good in the future but we need someone for the now. Hopefully a top striker is still arriving.

Speaking of Borini I see his agent isn't happy that we are blocking potential loan deals for Fabio

He is an improvement on every striker in our squad as he scored more goals

11 goals out of burnleys 28

WE will struggle to get rid of Borini,Balotelli and Lambert but at the moment we are over run with strikers as if you add those 3 with Ings Origi and Sturridge

We just need a good reliable injury free goal poacher.
Even an old experienced fart will do To get us challenging for honours.

Good young player with bags of ability but still raw - can certainly develop into a more than useful forward for us

Either he will shine and develop into a good striker or end up with a club like stoke, swansea . Time will tell.

So if the tribunal sets the transfer fee to 8...9 million, do you think Ings is still a "Good Value" buy ?

Why replace average borini with another English borini ? At least borini has been with our team for a while. He does not need to adapt to playing with a bigger team. So We give Ings another season to adapt to playing for a bigger team (like the excuses being mounted to lovern & lallana) ?

That's the biggest problem we have been doing under Rodgers. We replace average players with average players. A freckin zero sum game.

He hasn't event played a game for us yet and already been written off ?!

How can he be compared to Borini ? Ings scored more in one season in the Prem than Borini has scored in 3 seasons.

How about we give a young lad with a lot of potential the chance on the pitch before he is slated.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
INDEED
Ings' youth is his greatest attribute at the moment. He needs our full support!

To be fair to Borini he's hardly played over the last 3 seasons, when he was at Sunderland though his scoring rate wasn't that far away from Ings's.
