Hopefully he'll be back for the first day of pre-season.

The truth is he made his comeback in the last game of last season, had a full pre-season with the first team, and was playing regularly with the U23s. But he wasn't really getting a look in during the first few 2 months of the season. I can't see how he'll get much time on the pitch unless it's a cup game or we have a glut of injuries.

and it'll depend on who we don't bother to buy during the summer window so I'll expect him in the first 11 come August then.

Even if we don't buy anyone he still won't get in the starting 11 unless we have a number of injuries. Hopefully he'll have a bit more luck next season and he'll be able to make a contribution in the cups and over the busy festive season.

I don't know what it is you all hope to see from Ings ? Is it a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder or something ? He turns 25 in july and has had 2 serious injuries in the space of 3 years on both knees, He has only had 1 season in the premier league as well plus a few games when he managed to get a run out for us. His goalscoring record isn't anything to write home about either so I guess because we haven't seen him in a while he is now a really good player!!

Shame for the lad, injuries just seem to follow him. Think he could have something to offer against the lesser sides or off the bench but ultimately I think he probably needs to move to pastures new and try and stay fit and play regularly

Even when he is back with the main squad when will he really get time to play?

He will be fighting the odd 15 mins with Sturridge and Solanke and maybe a game here and there at cup comps.

I'd like to see Ings given a run out in the near future, he absolutely works his @rse off so you'd think he'd suit our system.
