Nice vid,
when this lad is fit and we have Sturridge and origi all available at the same time really leaves Benteke out in the cold. Bloody expensive training partner for Enrique, Benteke turns out to be.

Ings is a work horse type of player. Kloppy will love him and in confident Ings will be a hit with us. He reminds me of Kuyt/Bellamy. He wont be on the level of Suarez/Torres but im sure he will chip in and make a difference.

Agreed, his all action style and never say die attitude will go down well with Klopp, he'll make a good back up to Sturridge.

Some very good news (in my opinion) on the fee...

The guaranteed compensation fee, set by the PFCC tribunal, was £6.5million, plus £1.5million in contingent amounts dependent on player performance. In addition, Burnley will also receive 20% of any future profit Liverpool make on Ings.

I must admit I'm ignorant on this matter... But can someone tell why we should even be paying anything? The player came to us on a bosman. There is no longer any contract between Ings and Burnley for us to be paying any kind of compensation.

Liverpool will have to pay a record compensation fee of up to £8 million for Danny Ings following a tribunal ruling on Tuesday.

Ings left Burnley last summer after his contract at Turf Moor expired. The clubs were unable to agree a fee, with Liverpool valuing the player at around £6m and Burnley at £10m.

Ings made his England debut in October against Lithuania before he sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury that has stopped him playing for Jürgen Klopp since.

The professional football compensation committee has studied in excess of 400 pages of evidence including witness statements and analytics, which contributed towards an assessment of the striker’s worth.
The decision eclipses the previous record set when Chelsea were told to pay Manchester City for Daniel Sturridge in 2009.

Ings will cost Liverpool £6.5million plus another £1.5million in add ons in relation to performance.

I have to say now, I don't understand why we're paying anything?  ???

basically because Burnley brought him through their academy, paid for his development etc..

it will be the same for us when Jerome Sinclair leave at the end of the season on a free, because we have put him through the academy we will get a fee from a tribunal

Thanks CR. Looks like it's to protect clubs who develop youth. Fair enough. But then shouldn't they have a clear cut guideline like until which age the club responsible for the development of the player is eligible to receive compensation instead of having to go for tribunals all the time?
