I don't think he's good enough for Aston Villa, never mind Villarreal...

Just read that he was offered a "Lucrative" contract to stay  Thank feck he turned it down  :nod .

Never really liked him tbh. Couldn't defend and approached everything at 100 mile an hour.

Good luck to him - don’t think he was as bad as made out and was a decent enough back up

Was never really even a back-up, a 33 year old midfielder was prefered ahead of him.

Good luck to him, but he was never really good enough for us.

Are you on speed? He couldn't defend to save his life...

His recovery pace was a handy asset which dug us out of a hole once or twice but he did have a nasty habit of making mistakes in big games, like against Seville in the EL final

:nod

To be fair he did have some assets, pace being one of them.

Unfortunately his defensive tactical awareness was sadly lacking.

Not sure who to blame for that, him or the coaching staff ?

Never thought his attacking game was that strong either  :no Always frustrated the life out of me watching him ballooning it into the back row and lost count of the amount of times he used to do it. He had an awful technique and I suppose you can put some of it down to coaching but should you really have to point out to a 26 year old that he needs to stay over the ball. No composure at all just close the eyes and hope this is the one in a hundred that busts the top corner out of it.

Had a look to see if I could actually find a stat saying how many shots he has actually had during his time here but I couldn't get that specific one. He did score 3 goals and had 5 assists. Made 264 crosses with a 23% accuracy. He didn't create that many big chances either.

He could get up and down the line quicker than most which is how I will be remembering his contribution here  :D .
