When you look at the squad prior to us signing Moreno, the best fullback at the club is Enrique by quite some distance. Second best is probably Flanagan who has only ever played first team football consistently at LB (and he's done relatively well in the position making him a reliable backup at LB).

If 12-15 mill was to be spent on a fullback, I would much rather had seen it spent on a RB rather than a LB. That said, if Moreno is as good as many on the forum are making out, then spending the money on his bargain signing is a no brainer. I havent seen enough of him to have an opinion one way or the other, but I'm hopeful.

I'm still not sure who starts at RB for us. My worry is that Johnson might very well get a pass into the starting 11 courtesy of us not having any decent competition in the side. I really hope BR either brings someone in for RB or decides to give Flanagan more of a chance to make the role his own. Either way, its something we'll need to resolve by next summer unless Manquillo develops beyond expectation over the season.

Well my point is lets wait and see before declaring it as a "shambles"

Would tend to agree with this comment, would ideally like to see us add a top striker and a decent goal keeper to fight for the number 1 jersey as well

I hope there are no last minute glitches with this one, this lad is phenominally quick and I can't wait to see the likes of him, Sterling, Markovic and Sturridge in the same team.

I really can't understand why Sevilla stalled this for so long and at the end settled for so little (considering the player's quality). They didn't even play him in the match vs Real. But that's their business.

Anyway, I saw Moreno play plenty of times last season and I can assure you all we've signed a real quality player here. Even though I rate Enrique I'm glad we've signed Moreno for competition. We only had one left back and he spent the entire last season injured, who knows how and if he'll recover from that, so I think signing a left back was a good call even though we were(are?) more desperate for a RB.

Also, I hate to say it but credit where it's due, good job Ayre.

This is not official yet.... he could still fail the medical, didn't think that was possible until recently!

Hopefully it goes through.

Still young with lots still to learn but the lad looks lightening quick and very determined.
