red till i die!! » Fri Jul 25, 2014 11:22 pm wrote:whats the role going to be for lallana anyway. is he primarily going to be used in a wide position offering competition for markovic and sterling or coutinho in the hole ? maybe for all 3 ?
was hoping to get a look at him in the preseason and see what role he will play.

I think Rodgers wants these types of players to play on all of those positions. Like Sterling last season, who played on both wide positions and in the hole, I think we should expect to see the same from Lallana and Markovic. They'll probably even interchange positions during a match as well.

Anyway, gutted for the lad, was looking forward to seeing him, but at least we have options now so I think that he won't be such a big loss.

it's a big lost because he is one of the key acquisitions having paid 25 million pounds for him...

My point was that we have Markovic, Sterling and Coutinho to play instead of him so it's not like we're be lacking quality. And it's not like he'll be missing half the season, it's only for three games. It's bad that he got injured but I don't think that it'll hurt us too much.

Agreed, We have got enough cover (attacking midfielder wise) to cope without him for a while.

Has been bright in the past two games. After a slow start to his career not helped by an injury he is starting to make an impact. The goals and assists and not far off and I think he’ll do very well here.

The footwork for his goal was similar to something I seen him do in league one about four years ago or so... since I saw that always liked him

im really impressed with his work rate. You could tell first couple of games he wasnt match fit but now  looking like a really good buy.  Brendan should get Mario to chase him round in training   get some of his urgency instilled in mario lol

Him and Henderson in the same midfield would be great along with Can

Yeah completely amazing, can't wait till he plays in the same team as "hendo" will be well wicked and Chelsea will be will be well jel, only a matter of time before we win the league with these two Mega stars as our best players, Jordan can do the xavi role and adam the iniesta one, will be amazing! Can't wait.

I mean he's already played in there instead of coutinho but with the addition of can we will be proper wicked and win the league. Especially if we give them time and games. They will be world class if they do that.

I agree loads.

Good to see he had a good game and a goal against Leicester. The 'new' Liverpool team won't take shape until this lad is properly up and running so a step in the right direction as it would also take some of the pressure off the back 4.
