Good squad player but inconsistent as many said. It will be interesting to see how he does at Juve. Under todays market we easily could've got 30 mill for him.

I feel like Emre could be our next Xabi Alonso. I was expecting a little more consistency out of him as well, but he tended to show up in the big games. He's still young, and I believe he could grow into a Yaya Toure. He was my favorite player for a while, and I really believed he was going to be our next captain.

Maybe I thought too much of Can, but something tells me we're going to look back at this very disappointed that we couldn't hold onto him.

Not as bad as people make out but not as good as the rest make out.

He was straight down the middle for me. Nothing special - him being in the team made no difference to performances. For 220k a week and a 14m signing on fee they're welcome to him.

The Gemini Man was less transparent.

Basically he gets his 30 million valuation in his and his agent's pocket as a signing bonus and salary rather than going to the club. It is a system that discourages loyalty and encourages greed. You are right, it is what's wrong with football.

To be fair you can't really blame him for leaving, £14m straight into his bank account, he'd have to be nuts to turn that down. It's not as if he is going somewhere shyte either, Juventus are a great club in their own right.

Think this will be par for the course from here on in. If they wind down their deal then they hold all the cards. They can become instant millionaires and choose their own destination .
It evens itself out imo as we will lose some and gain others in the same way.

Clubs have got to start moving quicker, leaving it till the last 12 months is too late, players are prepared to ride that out especially with these pre-contract things they can sign now, once a player's contract gets down to 18 months if he refuses to put pen to paper on a new one or an extension he's got to be sold.
We probably lost £40m+ on Emre, that money would have come in very handy, it would have put a sizeable dent in Oblak's or Allison's transfer fee.

You cannot blame him but you must question the system. Fans put all the money in the pot but have the least influence. Football is all about loyalty except when it comes to players. Supporters that switch teams every year are laughed at and not taken seriously,  players that do that are regarded as shrewd and cleaver. It is that greed that will ruin football for ever.

IF I were offered £14M to sign for another club I'd snap the hand off them....and you miserable bunch could call me a greedy b'stard until the cows come home

Im interested in those who play for LFC, not those who have chosen to leave! Who cares what the greedy cu'nt has made?
