With 6 wins on the bounce we are doing everything we possibly can but it's still not in our hands, we need other teams to take points off City and realistically Chelsea as well.
Herculean effort by Brendan and the players though.

Considering our form, top 4 (or top 3 even) should be in the bag. But for winning the thing, we'll probably have to win all of our remaining games. That's 8 more games, plus the 6 we've already won, that's a 14 wins winning streak. Has anyone ever done that? We might be allowed to slip up at one game (provided it's not City or Chelsea) but we'll still have to win 7 out of 8 remaining games. It's not impossible but it's something close to it.

In 2001 when we finished second we won 13 of our last 15 games and only lost 1 of them.
That was when we had Annelka and Owen up front, that summer though we got rid of Annelka and brought in Diouf and Diao and Houlliers reign never really recovered from that.

Yes, but no one has ever achieved a 14 games winning streak in a single season in the Prem. Arsenal have done it but their run started in one season and ended the season after that. We might be allowed to have one slip up though, as long as it isn't City or Chelsea (I'm thinking West Ham).

There are too many things to consider, so maybe it's best to stop thinking about it and keep it simple, one game at a time.

You're right in the sense that the laws of averages are against us but they aren't carved in stone, with 5 of our remaining 8 games being at Anfield (and given our home form this season) we have a decent chance of pulling it off.
Granted 3 of those home games are against Spurs, City and Chelsea but no one, including those sides, will look forward to coming here.
Don't forget there is a hell of a lot of pressure on those mega rich clubs, second place is failure to them, when their owners throw millions about they don't expect to be beaten to the title by a team spending £10m here and £12m there like we have been doing.

Mathematically, we need 4 wins and a draw to cement our spot in the top 4, assuming Everton wins all their remaining games. I honestly hope Everton goes on a good run, beats Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal and pips the latter to 4th spot. If we beat Spurs today, there's no chance of them catching up with us at all. So in effect, Everton and Arsenal remains our closest rivals.

10 wins on the bounce.

Just, just...............well words can't explain how proud of the lads i am at them moment. That huddle at the end, and Gerrards passion, made me swell with pride.

So proud

We need 1 more win the qualify for the ECL. Arsenal has a game in hand and assuming they win it, they will be 10 points behind us with 4 games to go. So we need one more win the mathematically qualify for the ECL.
