They played to win and they did...

Anelka was very active in Newcastle half-side, Wanchope did his job, Wright-Phillips (one of the best wingers in Premier League) was like a locomotive...

City deserved this win...

Cheeso, tell me how your side got on today. Against relegation fodder. With nothing to play for.   :D

When you consider that Newcastle have only won 2 games AWAY al lseason this result is not as big a surprise. i expected adraw but what a  bonus to see city win :D  Newcastle still have to travel to Southampton who despite todays 4-0 defeat will run them all the qway and i expect they might sneak a point, NUFC wil beat Wolves at home so will need to win at Anfield IF we win tomorrow and Draw at brum ......Come on REDS !!!!!! :p

Equal goal difference with LFC having scored 2 more goals so a BIG win tomorrow will do us the world of good.

Dont discount Villa who have Spurs and MAn U at Home and Southampton away ..........all possible wins .....

O'Leary's job is easy -simply tell the team they're the underdogs and that everybody thinks it's between L'Pool & Newcastle. I've got an eye open over my shoulder for Villa. The brummie ba#ta#ds might just nick it whilst we're too busy squabbling with the Geordies.

It a shame we have to rely on s##t teams beating Newcastle to give us some breathing room.

How far we have fallen.

We MUST win tomorrow.

I want to see some f##king passion when they play against Boro!!!!

I don't give a s##t if Boro put 10 goals in the back of their own net and 9 in ours so long as we get three points today.  Its a dogfight now, fluency and style is for the middle of the season.

I can just see the last day scenario - A win for us puts us 4th, A win for the Geordies means they do it, A draw see the Villa sneak it.

Its gonna be a nervy day!

City have indeed done us a favour with reagrds to Newcastle but whats the chances united will do the same when they travel to Villa on the final day of the season ? ??? With a FA Cup final the following week, you can bet that Fergie (Who has conceded 2nd place to Chelsea today) will field a reserve sdie and the FA wil do exactly that ...FA !!!!!!!!

I have this horrible feeling we draw aginat Newcastle and Vilal win to leapfrog us both !!!!!!! :O
