Coutinho works well with a quick striker so has been benefiting from the pace of sterling. If Sterling was a touch better with his finishing Coutinho would have a hell of alot more assists. Hopefully when Dannys back we will see the goals firing in again.

He has been our best player mate in practically every match he has played in. By far our most creative player and the problem is that he cannot carry a team. Anything positive happening on the field from us is coming through him and i'd be willing to bet he will be the clubs player of the season this year.

Liverpool are reportedly close to agreeing a revised four-and-a-half year contract with midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

The 22-year-old Brazilian's current deal runs to 2018 but talks have been ongoing and are drawing to a conclusion.

That's great news, to sign a player of his quality was a great bit of work by our transfer committee but when you factor in the fee as well (£8.5m) it was an inspired piece of business.

Great news indeed BUT as we've seen a contract doesn't guarantee that a player will remain at a club.

Success is what really encourages superior players to stay .

The pass for Sterling's goal was one of the best pieces of improvisation I have ever seen on a football field. It wasn't just improvisation though, it was improvisation married with incredible technique.

Very rapid improvisation for the first, and an intelligent change of direction opens up the space for Sturridge for the second. #Star

Just gets better by the week. Ok he has his off periods but overall he is developing into a huge asset. He will really enjoy having Danny back. His assist figures will be on the up !!

Brazil call up must be very close................

After a very poor start has got his mojo back. Helps to have good movement infront of him opposed to Mario (almost nonexistent) and to a lesser extent Rickie.

Absolute sublime player, I think he should be given a chance at free kicks, his shooting may not be the best in open play but from a dead ball position it would be different.

Excellent player. I reckon our recent upturn has had more to do with this lad than it has to do with anything else.

What more can i say that hasn't been said in previous posts, the guy is a genius, a creator of top draw chances, only flaw is his finishing but that can be ignored as long as our forwards tuck away his creations

Long may he continue

I think that includes last year's great form as well.
