He's off. Doesn't even celebrate scoring goals for us anymore, which says it all.

His form these past 2 games has been world class. Who knows what might happen

The lad is one of the best about at what he does and I am sick of seeing us let players like this go. Winning a league would be so much easier with players like him in the side. We don't need the money so should be doing everything we can to keep him.

What can you do? He probably grew up dreaming of playing for Real or Barca....almost all Brazilians do. I'd be amazed if he's still here next summer.

We have to be smart and make players like Coutinho stay when they are at their best, or approaching their best. When they are about 29 and at their peak, Real Madrid or Barcelona can have them...

Of course, easier said than done. Not sure if Coutinho will be happy if we asked him to stay one more season and he's still only 25...

I think we play hardball and keep him. The last ten years have seen Spanish football dominate but that was an era and I think the money and eventually the success will be in the prem for the next years, it is now our turn. So him dreaming of playing for Barcelona as it is " the best team in the world" may not be valid anymore but I'm afraid that all the millions in the world will never change the weather in Liverpool.

He should stay for another three years or so as I think the prem will be the place to be and judging by how all prem teams made it to the knockout stage with four of them being group winners is telling.

Hopefully he won't bite anyone at the World Cup  :glare:

If he does go we will miss our little magician. He was awesome today great goal and awareness. His passing was sublime.

He actually celebrated scoring today. Something I've not seen since last season. Dunno if that means he's happy to stay or his move to Barca has been given the green light....might mean nothing at all...

my gut goes with this too. Sad, but think we'll have done a good job to hold on to him until next summer.

But don't worry, next summer arrives Keita and who knows maybe Lemar also if FSG dig deep into their pockets. We won't miss him one bit if those two arrive. Then Coutinho will be a distant memory. Just like Suarez and Torres.
Just like the Raheem 50m city deal, if he wants to leave, just make sure we get the right money for him, at least 120m.then we buy Harry Kane or Lemar with the proceeds.

Only problem is we've always struggled to replace our main man when he is sold. I guess Klopp will have to work hard to get the right replacement.

According to some news sources, Nike who make Barcelonas kit have printed shirts with Coutinhos name on them.
Is this a done deal in January I wonder!??

He's gone lads. Nike need us to fine  them for this though. Club have not released this yet but they have? Sue them...  £75m should cover it ha ha

I did see a screenshot of Nikes website and they were advertising Barca Jerseys with Coutinho on them. It has since been removed but I expect that has more to do with legal ramifications than it just been total bull. Despite this Phil wasn't training with the rest of the squad today for some reason other than a move to Barca.

Looking like he's a goner, but I hope it's in the summer. Not January, as it will disrupt the season.
