The lad has a sensitive Hamstring and that's why i was shiiting bricks when we didn't sign another striker...Now let's see if Mario is up to the task (Personally i don't think so). At least our MF would get another creative player inside. (Lallana ,Marco ,Coutinho). But i'm really worried going forward.

More than just a "bit worrying". I'm thinking what effect Danny's ever growing catalogue of injuries may eventually have on his ability to perform.

Searched his injury record for the last couple of seasons and if the info provided is true in terms of Danny's ability to stay injury free it makes for some pretty alarming reading.

. Hamstring  5th Sept 2014 - no return date
. Hamstring 13th April 2014 - 24th April 2014
. Ankle Ligaments 26th Nov 2013 - 8th Jan 2014
. Hip/Thigh injury 1st Sept 2013 - 14th Sept 2013
. Ankle Ligaments 29th May 2013 - 4th Aug 2013
. Hamstring 19th Feb 2013 - 8th March 2013
. Hip/Thigh injury 3rd Feb 2013 15th Feb 2013
. Hamstring 18th Nov 2012 - 11th Dec 2012
. Hamstring 16th Sept 2012 - 18th Oct 2012
. Broken Toe 12 Aug 2012 - 17th Aug 2012

Sturridge has missed 21 games for Liverpool due to injury since his move from Chelsea in January last year.

Despite his undoubted skill his injury record goes some way in part to perhaps explaining why Chelsea let him go in the first place.   :(

From Liverpool Echo.....

Daniel Sturridge is facing a race against time to be fit for Liverpool’s return to the Champions League.

Sturridge was back at Melwood on Saturday for further assessment after pulling out of the squad for England’s opening Euro 2016 qualifier in Switzerland on Monday.

The striker was sent for scans after complaining of a thigh problem during training at the national team’s St George’s Park base on Friday.

Sturridge is almost certainly out of the Reds’ home Premier League game against unbeaten Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

And with Liverpool still to determine the extent of the damage, the 25-year-old is in danger of being sidelined for the Anfield side’s first Champions League game in almost five years when Brendan Rodgers’ men entertain Ludogorets of Bulgaria three days later.

Rickie Lambert could be in line to replace Sturridge in the starting line-up for both club and country.

He's been injured 4 times in 3 years whilst with England

The finger has to be pointed at Hodgson's training methods.  It's obviously different to our more nurtured approach to training individuals.

Now Hendo's injured too.

I HATE THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK

That's longer that I thought, time for Mario to step up to the plate.

Agree, not sure if the club can do anything about it though.

But the Owl is definitely not doing something right with our players at training.

The sooner these meaningless international friendlies (throughout the season) come to an end, the better.

I seem to recall Hodgson once played Daniel when he was carrying a knock just to test his mettle, he said he wanted to see if Danny was committed to the England cause. He left him on for the full 90 as well iirc.
That type of thinking was starting to become dated in the 70's never mind the 21st century.

It could have been worse. He'll only miss the Villa and the West Ham game I guess, since he would have probably been rested for the Ludogorets and the Boro games anyway.
