I think its a loan. The lad is class i doubt Real would let him go.

my arsenal mate reckons him choosing us over them means he's "lacking ambition".

well considering he's only over here for a year i hardly see how CL football is overly important. it's not as if arsenal are going to win sod all. as long as they finish 4th every year they're happy.

He looked absolute quality at Dortmund, but I never saw much of him at Madrid so cannot comment on his time there. So are we playing with a six man central midfield next season?

well madrid were hardly going to let him go for good despite his lack of game time, especially with alonso refusing to sign a new contract.
