I think a lot of us said that about Lucas,Henderson and Allen. Sterling was also considered nothing better than a squad player by the font of all knowledge. BR has proved that he is no idiot and he is fully aware of Borini's potential from his days at Chelsea as the youth team boss. I'm not writing him off just yet. He's no Suarez but he may just prove that he can do a job.

As someone said maybe he did find his level at Sunderland but I'd rather have him on our bench ahead of Aspas.

Keep him. Give him some time to develop. Could be a great asset in the future. It's not fair that he hasn't been given enough chances with us seeing that he was injured for a long spell.

He's an awful, awful player.

Nowhere near good enough to play for this club.

i would rather see him on our bench over aspas but that isnt saying much now is it.
one goal from open play this season is no where near good enough and certainly doesnt warrant being brought back.
you cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear

Yeah but if we play him loads he might become world class...

He might learn to run, pass, head, tackle, shoot, see a ball and play quickly.

All we need to do is get him to work on everything and he'll be boss.

how about we sell Borini and Aspas and buy someone who can actually compete at this level?

Loic Remy or Mitshy Batshuayi would be good as a 3rd choice striker to SAS. I really hope Aspas is sold. He's hopeless.

Not good enough he may be, but hes scored again tonight for Sunderland, he's played a big part in keeping them up

Certainly not as bad as some make out and he’s good enough to have a decent career in the Premier League or Serie A. Playing in a poor team with some awful players he hasn’t been able to score a bucketful of goals but he has been one of their best players and scored important goals at important times, and that’s always an encouraging sign for a striker.

But he’s never going to be good enough to play regularly for a top 6 side and he’s past the stage of being happy playing second fiddle to Suarez and Sturridge. He has done well in a very poor team and his stock is high enough now for us to cash in - and we should.

I'd cash in on Borini and STOP buying players from Italy!! We should send our rejects there not the other way round.

Padelli, Dossena, Alberto, Borini.... flop, flop, flop and flop

If we have to loan a player who was intended to slot into the first team, i'd say that's a fail right there.

Serie A is slow paced tactical league, the exact opposite of the EPL. It's no wonder the players can't adjust to the physicality & speed in England. If anyone can name an Italian player in the last 10 years that has not flopped in the EPL I'd love to know who.

Vito Mannone and Mario Balotelli. But yeah, Italians generally don't seem to do well in the EPL unless you went further back to the days of Di Matteo, Zola, Eranio, Carbone and Ravenalli.

Mannone? Couldn't make it at arsenal and they don't even have a good keeper. I'll definitely give you Balo, but for me, Mannone is definitely a flop.

Mannone is championship standard. As are most maypax advocates.

With regards to players not making it in other countries for me is codswallop. Good player are good players in whatever country they play in. Simple as that.

Borini has to go. He's nowhere near upto it and gives us nothing. Is he going to come off the bench and make a difference against a good side? My bets are no.

Awful!
