I have Shaqiri on FIFA, he's great :D. But the winger that we really want is Mario Gotze. Young and proven, and probably his price won't be even near the ridiculous price Lille want for Hazard. Also, Borussia Dortmund just bought a similar player, Reus, from Borussia Munchengladbah so it might mean that Gotze is willing to leave the club.

Basel got through to the next round in the CL so i doubt they will sell him before the summer.

He was also one of the top 2-3 players in the U21 championship last summer so he wont be cheap and you can bet a lot of clubs will want to buy him.

We should have got him instead of Downing last summer when we had a better chance to get him.

You guys are saying we shouldn't sign Hoilett because he's only 'good'. Well atm the on the flanks Kuyt has been awful, Downing has been underwhelming and Maxi has been good and Bellamy has been brilliant. Having Hoilett on the flank would massively improve our options especially compared to Kuyt and with him being only 21 he's bound to improve. I'm all for signing the lad,he has the trickery to beat players and we don't have a player like that bar Suarez. If you think we're going to get Hazard or Gotze you're dreaming. Shaqiri? Yes possible.

Spurs boss reveals Toon star could be sold on the cheap

Harry Redknapp has sparked a massive transfer scramble for Newcastle’s Demba Ba by revealing his release clause is around HALF the £10million mooted over the weekend.

Officials at St James’ Park have been desperate to keep a lid on the fact that the striker, who has netted 15 times this season, is available for the right fee.

But asked about a £10m release clause, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “I think you will find it is a lot less than that.”

Asked if was as little as £7m, Redknapp added: “Even less than that.”

Prob all boll.oc.ks but def worth a gamble if true....

2010-2011 season: 7 goals in 10 games for west ham. 9 in 17 for Hoffenheim.

No. nothing of note before newcastle.

Ba would be awesome. As would Tiote. And Cabaye.
Shame we got Carroll. But maybe he'll come good.
I also like Cavani. Dont think we have a shot though.
Maybe Lavezzi. But he isn't prolific.
If I had to pick 2 buys for January, it would be Hoilett & Ba.
Really hope we go for a central midfielder though.

Do we really need Tiote when Lucas comes back from injury? I know he is a very good player, but I would rather spend money on buying a midfielder in Luca Modric or Fabregas mold, someone who is creative. James McCarthy of Wigan?

McCarthy has one good game in ten, no thanks.
