Liverpool have announced they will take on Glasgow Rangers in a prestigious friendly later this month.

The Reds will travel to Glasgow for the fixture on Tuesday, October 18, (kick-off 7.30pm) for a match which will see Charlie Adam and Danny Wilson returning to Ibrox for the first time since moving south of the border.

The two teams last met in a pre-season friendly in August 2008, with Liverpool running out 4-0 winners in Scotland.

Liverpool have been allocated up to 4,000 tickets for this fixture. Tickets will be priced at £25 for adults, £15 for over 65's and fans aged 16 or 17, with under 16's priced at £5 each.

Full selling arrangements will be announced in due course.

This is baffling to me....... Unless its just a few ressie's sent up.

bit strange, Kenny must feel that we need a few more games as we are not in the CL or EC, i have felt that we have started slow when we have not had a game for a few days but do still find this strange.

Good for morale if we hammer them and will help with getting match fitness up to ful, good idea in my opinion plus I support both so win, win.

What's with a friendly in mid season? Hope Kenny plays the ressies. Could be worse though. Blackburn have to go to India. :D

Well, considering that we play the Mwanckers on the 15th, I expect quite a few will be reserve team players (I hope so anyway so they can be bedded in to the 1st team) as I think we have Norwich on the 22nd.  Not good to be traveling for friendly's when we have important EPL games coming up. We need the 1st eleven to be fresh. From the 15th to 22nd (including the Rangers game) that's 3 matches. In fact from the 15th to 29th we have 5 games in total.

Well lets not hear any moaning from the club about playing too many games and congested fixture programmes!

Isn't it something to do with the 2 clubs coming together in memory of the disasters both clubs have been involved with

It's no big deal, key players probably won't play too much, if even at all.
