Quality player before his knee injury but was never the same after and has lost 2 yards. Pity, cos he's smart and use to play great forward balls. Always linked up well with Suarez

Apparently he is in advanced talks with a return to Newcastle, any fee received will be swallowed up by what we have to pay him

He is on 65k a week and this will be great to have off the books

EDIT: Ian Dennis of the BBC saying the deal has fallen through

Staying now to ensure his contract is paid up in full, last few months of seeing those kind of numbers on his wage slip ever again.

He's perfectly entitled to see out the contract that we gave him  :nod
Can anyone blame him really ? he is 30 after all and probably has only 2-3 years left in him so why shouldn't he sit here and collect it in full before moving on and pocketing any transfer fee himself. The club and us fans won't give a shyte if he is earning nothing in 3 years so he is just doing what any of us would do and that's getting what he can for himself.

Best of luck to him.

Can't disagree RTID, But....it'd be nice to spend £65k per week on a player or five who actually want to put in a shift on the pitch.

Imagine that waking up in the morning not a worry in the world and pocketing 65k a week. Thats the life lol.

to be honest I'd rather have that feeling sat in front of me tea at 6pm knowing that I'd done a days graft. Footballers are lazy ***** and don't know what its like doing a days work for a pay packet at the end of the week that barely covers the bills, food and a couple of pints or a ticket to watch THEM play football.

reality check needed for the lot of them

jesus... i'd forgotten he was still here. a shame... i kinda liked him for a while back then. either he lost his way or he only had one decent season in him. hope he finds another club though, seems like an honest hard working player.

Me too. After his 1st two seasons with us I think injury and Bodgers thwarted his career. Good luck to the fella.

Sad to see him go, seemed like a decent fella.
Injuries have definately taken their toll on him though, when he first arrived he was like an Olympic sprinter and physically strong with it, not many got past him one on one that's for sure.
He can hardly run these days though.
Good luck Jose and thanks for all your efforts in a red shirt mate!

Even now he's a miles better than than Moreno, never understood why he was frozen out so badly when we haven't exactly been blessed with quality at the left back since we bombed him out, anyway good luck to him, I'm sure a premiership or la liga team will take him.

If I remember correctly, on the occasions he did play he was mentally shot?
