But ultimately their main aim was always to make the club a success and do it Standing on its own

People will be critical of early signings but inbetween that dross there was also some quality signed - Coutinho , Suarez , Sturridge , Henderson , Lallana , Lovren , Origi , Can , Gomez , Firmino - all players key to our success over the years under the owners.

The issue will always - they are american and people will always expect them to spend like City

I don't think there's a single Liverpool fan anywhere on earth who expected them to spend like City's owners.

Credit where credit's due, he had a great game against city, the best Ive seen him play for years. His cross for Mane's goal was near perfection.
Lets hope he can keep that standard up for the rest of the season.

As long as he keeps up the work rate he has he will have a place on Klopps team.
He wants 3 hard working mids so the front 3 can do their thing. And Henderson is doing what is asked of him.
A central mid who is flashy will not get into this team. Unless he is a very hard worker.

Guess it must be Hendo is playing well when people aren’t posting on here

Another outstanding performance from him - real captain’s performance and what a ball for the goal - hopefully one day the lad will get the full credit he deserves

People questioned if he would be able to fill Gerrards boots when he left.

He's transformed himself, massive respect to the guy.

Y'know, he'll become the most successful captain in the last 30 years by the end pof the season, right up there with the greats... Emlyn, Thommo, Souness...

I've never seen a player want to win as much as Hendo. He's ultra fired up every game and he will run himself into the ground to make sure we get a result. It's no surprise to see him captain the current best team in the world.

He's so underrated.. I'd say its jealousy from rival fans, but what baffles me the most is OUR own fans pull him to pieces.

Im so happy for him and so proud of him captaining our club.

His next appearance will be his 350th for the club - not bad considering how much he has be slagged off by his own fans and also Rodgers who tried to swap him for Dempsey at one point.

And only an idiot would fail to understand why Rogers was prepared to get rid of him at that time !! Hendo has his critics for very good reason. He’s goes through awful spells of inconsistency. At the moment he is on a great run and long may it continue.

Nobody is more pleased than me in the way he has transformed himself into what he is now. I have in the past called for him to be stripped of the captaincy and be fu'cked off from the club because of his infuriatingly poor displays. He has now put all that behind him to become the leagues best midfielder and finally shown why Klopp had faith in him. He has repaid that faith in spades.
Long may he continue to prove that he is where he is on merit and not because of sentiment.

I still think his best role is the Fabinho role and I do think Fabinho is better at it. His upturn in form has coincided with Fabinho’s injury as he has since played his position. When Fabinho gets back and Hendo goes back to his old role he may struggle for form again.

Sorry but his form has been superb for 18 months now - he was excellent when playing alongside Fabinho

Henderson hasn’t had a sudden upturn in form - it’s been there for ages - some just don’t want to admit they were wrong about him
