SSN just said that Roy had said he'd had talks with him

Yup, apparently we are 'tempting' him with 90k a week which is a bit strange because ancelloti told the press that the reason for cole's exit is economical. So are we saying that Chelsea is not willing to even pay 90k per week? And instead buys Benayoun for 6 million? Doesn't add up. Unless roman has issues with Cole and at the same time a fan of yossi.

no chelsea offered him 100 grand a week and he said no he wanted 120 grand. All hes doing is starting a bidding war between us and spurs. He will join spurs for about 110 grand a week. Hes a greedy little fecker who i bet spits his dummy out and over rates himself.

A 3 year contract at 90 thou a week knowing the lad has injury issues, he would be mad NOT to sign!

The only issue might be if he comes to Liverpool he´ll play every week and stand a greater chance of getting injured (Torres, Gerrard etc..) whereas if he went to another club they mightt rotate him more becuase of a bigger squad. Maybe Aqualani and Cole could share the left wing.... for 90 thou a week.... poor lad. In principle we shouldnt be buying crocked players for 90 thou a week should we?

Exclusive: Reds sign Joe Cole

Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Cole on a four-year deal.

The England midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Reds and will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours.

Cole becomes the club's second signing of the summer after Milan Jovanovic.

The 28-year-old arrives from Chelsea, where he won three league titles and two FA Cups during a seven-year spell.

He is a product of the West Ham youth system and has represented his country 56 times, scoring 10 goals in the process.
