never seen him but nanny had mentioned him in the rumour thread.
He is obviously really highly rated so lets hope he is given the right opportunities at the club. If and when he signs.

So are Charlton going to become something of a feeder club for us? He sounds promising anyway.

Welcome to Liverpool Football club.

Says in that Guardian link he turned down a 3.5Mil move to Chelsea. I like him already.

Here is an encouraging post from one of the charlton fans..

He has so much more quality than we have really seen so far. His touch is superb, his passing is very accurate and has a wide range. He threw himself into a few tackles at the weekend and ran his :censored: off.

His free kicks need a bit more work and he is not the fastest player I've seen - but whilst he may not be like Walcott was at that age - I suspect our Jonjo will develop into a superb player and would not be at all surprised to see him in an England shirt in a couple of years time.

He is genuinely one of the most talented players I've seen in a long time and I for one think anything less that £5m NOW with at least 20% sell-on and we've been shafted.

However - I'd also like to think he will give us next season to get ourselves moving in the right direction and he will display some of the loyalty that is sadly lacking in this game.

His agent will obviously know he is sitting on a goldmine but I'd like to think Jonjo knows in his own head that he is going to be a hugely wealthy man in a couple of years and playing regular, competitive football at this stage in his career will be good for him.

On Wikipedia it says

'Highly tipped to be future England Captain and perfect replacement for Lampard'

And the Charlton Athletic Manager has recently compared him to a teenage Steven Gerrard.

This kid certainly has some hype

I should be able to get some info on this dude.  My bro works with Lloyd Sam's (charlton player) brother and so he should know how highly they rate him.

Always nice to see us go for a highly rated English youngster. It always annoys me when you see Arsenal in for the likes of Ramsay and Walcott (albeit at premium prices) or Spurs going in for Lennon and Bale while we scour the globe for kids that struggle to make the jump. Fingers crossed this kid live sup to the hype and doesn't go the way of Jack Hobbs or any of the other "highly rated, sought after" youngsters the club have brought in over the previous years. We desperately need to bring a few young players through the ranks.

I was quite bitter when I heard we missed out on Wilshere but this seems positive indeed.

"Better players will benefit him for one thing. Now he can create chances for David N'Gog instead of Akpo Sodje... "
