just wondering... could anyone clarify what is the role of Stevie at the Academy is? Is he the "head coach" in charge of the Academy or is he just another coach?

He just 'a coach' under Inglethorpe:

Hopefully he'll duck under the spotlight for 5+ years whilst he learns the job.

I thought he played on too long tbh, he probably made more mistakes in his final 2-3 years than he did in all his other seasons combined. What a player he was in his prime though, utterly majestic. He could pass it long or short, tackle, had a hammer of a right foot, he could open up a defence with a pass like one of those crafty Scottish schemer's of yesteryear and if that wasn't enough he was probably the quickest CM I've ever seen in a red shirt as well.
Harry Redknapp was spot on when he called him Roy of the Rovers. We won't see his like again, players like Gerrard come around once a century.

Talk about us being spoilt by world class strikers in the other thread. We have had one of the best midfielders in the world in Gerrard for a decade, how spoilt have we been by him. But no point looking backwards... we need to look forward.
