This tie will be played at Prestons historic Deepdale ground on the weekend 0f 3/4 January 2009

We all know its the former team of the late great Bill Shankly, and today there is a former LFC player Neil Mellor playing for the team.

Think it will be buzzing around the ground that day, and for me, as i live a stones throw away, will be present with the missus daughters father in law (as he's a north end fan).

true. but the significance of this match in terms of former players, former great manager of both clubs warrant an early thread start, imo.
