Not happy with this at all.
Arbeloa better up his game and justify Rafa's decision in letting Finnan go.
Best of luck Stevie Finnan.

Arbeloa with his crazy hair du is the new king at right back

Strikes fear into the opposition with his crunching tackles and pacey sprints up and down the flank  :;):

I presume all left sided midfielders and full backs will be happy hes cemented his place in our back line today!

Disappointed to see Finnan go - i do not rate Arbeloa at all - think he is very slow to push up when there is a need for an overlap and defensively is not at the races and gives away too many silly frees which add pressure to an already overworked defense.  How come there is no news of this on LFC website - news on Reira deal, new kiddie striker and goalie, Voronin going but not a word on Finnan who has been Mr. Reliable for the club and by Rafa's and Stevie G's own words, one of the better players that fails to get the plaudits he deserves - yet not a mention on the website !!! Strange !!!!!  However, one option i would like to see would be Carra pushed out right back and Skrtel/Agger forming the centre pairing - while Carra might not have the legs he has the football brain - would like to see how Skrtel and Agger get on in a partnership for a few games

Well, this one has been coming for a while, seeing as Rafa hasn't even included Finnan in the squad on most (all?) occasions this season. However I'm still a bit sad to see him go, as I agree with all the other posters who have their reservations about Arbeloa and Degens level. Still think we should have kept hold of Finnan for one more season and actually played him. But now he's off to sunny Spain, so best of luck to our Mr. Reliable.

A fellow member has called him Mr. Reliable, and I struggle to find a better name for Steve Finnan.

In a way I'm sad, because all the mentioned reasons in this thread (reliable, good servant), but I'm happy that probably he'll enjoy regular football in Espanyol, and that's something any professional wants.

Was still the best right back at the club imo.
