Brad friedel vs paul ince

Friedels proposed move to Villa got me thinking, if we hadn't signed the "less than impressive" Cavellari. I would have liked to have seen him back here.

Now Friedel is one of the top 5 keepers in the Prem no question about that, so why would blackburn let him go without bringing in a better keeper.

I wonder if thier is a strained realtionship with Ince, Is it feesable to think that when they both played for us that they didn't see Eye to Eye.

This may be a small clue to how unsettled the dressing room was back in the late 90's ???

Also i was talking with a friend and he reckons 3/4 years down the line Mark Huges will be the manager of the Mancs and Ince will be our gaffer, i laughed him out of the Pub.

What are your thoughts?

1) He's still a Blackburn player.

2) Paul Ince has been quoted as saying he wants to keep him.

3) The rumours are fairly strong, and it's possible he just wants a new challenge as he's been at Blackburn for just under 8 years.

4) It's doubtful that he'd have wanted to sign for us given that he's been getting regular football for many seasons, and if he'd had signed for us, he'd most definitely have been looking at a backup role.

5) Mark Hughes is defiitely a realistic candidate to takeover at Man U once Ferguson retires, but I see no relevance to that in this part of the forum.

6) Ince is still very much unproven in the top flight, he has a lot of proving to do before he can even be considered a future candidate for any top job.

Erm , what's the point of this thread except that we should and could have signed a quality keeper for free? If we go by that we might as well start a Niemi thread as well , Or a Mark schawaerzer thread?  Maybe should be in the football general discussion thread?

if ince ever became our manager i wouldn" t laugh out the pub i"d fecking cry!!
you asked for our thoughts - here"s mine, thanks mate cause just the thought
of ince ever becoming our "gaffer" as you put it, will give me fecking nightmares!
he may have been a great player in his day (that"s not the issue) the issue
for me is "once a manc, always a manc" i can honestly say when roy evans
signed him my heart sank!
he may have done well in managing lower league teams, but imho he is out
of his depth in the EPL, for various reasons, money to buy top players etc
i"m made up "god" has been given another chance at the big time, i sincerly
hope robbie is succesfull, however with players wanting out of blackburn
rather than wanting to prove themselves to a new manager says it all
for me. i wonder what odds you"d get at the bookie"s for ince to be the
first manager to be sacked next season. as for brad friedel to come
back to lfc no thanks, not because i don"t think he"s a good keeper
but by the time he got a game he"d have to use a zimmer frame to get
onto the pitch, with his collostomy bag not far behind him.

Well You don't go around creating pointless threads do you? Its a external affair and it does not affect our club , in any way , and its posted in the wrong place ? We have a Football discussion threads for other premier league clubs , try looking it up once in a while?
