Why is that so ?

He is much better than Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch (in fact better than all of them combined).

He scores loads of goals...even now for spurs...everytime he comes on...he looks like scoring a goal (how many has he got while coming on). Can you ever say that about Kuyt or Voronin ? And furthermore....Defoe could also do a better job on the RW than than Voronin and Kuyt (a trait our strikers need to posses under rafa :p .....)

If u lose faith in rafa for buying defoe...... wat did you lose when rafa bought Kuyt and Voronin.

Although i prefer robbie keane or berbatov or anelka over defoe....it does say a lot when a spurs reject is better than most of the striker we have here. ...

Yes Defoe is better than Kuyt or Voronin but that's not saying much.  Do you honestly think that we can progress by buying a Tottenham reject.  This is one of the biggest problems that Liverpool have is buying reject players and hope that they come good.  We have to forget about these types of players if we want to compete with the top sides.  Rafa realized this and now I hope the owners realize it too.

Yes I'm sure, because he's been whining about wanting more funds for better players lately .

Well hope he doesn't waste 9 million on another dud like Kuyt......or 11 million on a very raw player like babel...

If he could cut out the theatrics from his game I'd love to see Deco at Anfield. For me he's been one of Europe's most consistent performers for 3-4 years, playing two very different roles. With Barca now keen to push Iniesta into a more consistent starting role, he may be interested in a move.

St Mick why would we want to sign a 30 year old (31 this summer) midfielder ?

(ps . given what we already have)

I'd agree Deco's a great player but at 30 do you think it's worth the risk he'll make the change to English football.
What do people think is our priority- another striker or a winger/midfielder?

he'd be reletively cheap. :D

he's better in the hole than as a central midfielder anyway, and lets face it, stevie wonder would show more vision in that position that kuyt or voronin.

The signing would be at least three years two late imo St Mick. Deffo wouldn't want Deco now. He would only be here for one - two seasons at most.

Forget Deco he'll be finished soon, plus he has a nasty attitude.  I'd rather see Matias Fernandez here.
