Darby also looks an excellent prospect to me. A real out and out defender who is excellent in one on one situations. If Arbeloa gets injured, I'd have no problems with him filling in as I don't like Carragher at fullback.

I can't believe beneitz rates Lucas over Guthrie.....

Thing is Rafa wasnt to know Lucas would be taking so long to settle in over here. Based on his form back home im sure anyone would have taken him. Winner of that player of the year award and captain of the Brazil under 21's.

Same thing with Dossena. He was pretty decent in Italy but Rafa wasnt to know he would be utter :censored: over here.

But there could be something there in Insua so let's wait and see.

Don't forget that Kelly also got some time on the pitch. Very nice to see three youngsters getting the chance to play a bit for the first team. I really liked the look of Darby at RB - would like to see more of him during the season.

another defeat for the reserves last night, 2-1 to bolton, although by all accounts the referee was a complete disgrace.

Hopefully they can get games for the first team, I think Darby has a better chance because we only have one fit right back now.

I´ve seen Darby several games and he seemed to me another fullback that can´t beat his man and must improve his crosses, but he´s solid defensively.

Good win for the ressies last night amidst all the depression. A 2-0 win over 'Boro

Pacheco ran the show, played several defence splitting passes on a poor surface. Nemeth still looked a bit rusty, but I swear he has a ball magnet, he ends up with the ball in the box so much.

I cant work out whether NGogs second was class or lucky.. he obviously meant to take it over the keeper. I think he is going ok for a 4th choice striker speacially if we often play 451. I never look at our youngsters and think they will realy good.. they always look like they could 'turn out alright.'

Keep going lads, good going.

Whats happening with Darby and Degan?

Just watching the reserves against the Mancs at the moment. El Zhar's having a cracking game.

I missed it, but after game David Johnson was saying that El Zhar, Ngog and Plessis had been poor and not done nearly enough as the more experienced members of the team.
What was the end result btw ?
