Gap between us and united - Is getting bigger all the time!

THE GAP BETWEEN LFC AND MAN UTD IS GETTING WIDER ALL THE TIME

I have been reading articles by so-called experts in the so-called papers that Manchester United, Arsenal and even Chelsea are starting to close the gap on Liverpool in terms of ability and their overall chances of winning the title. This is sheer shite and onions, based only on the fact that these three clubs have between them won every Premiership title for the last decade.

The truth is, despite the odd temporary dip in form for the last 17 years or so, Liverpool remain by far the greatest team the world has ever seen. Why else would Rogers and Hammerstein have written a song about us?

THE GAP BETWEEN US AND OUR IMITATORS IS IMMENSE, AND IS GETTING WIDER ALL THE TIME.

Don’t believe me? Read on.

According to the so-called “League Table” published by the so-called “Premier League”, Manchester United were 21 points ahead of Liverpool last May. Everyone knows that the only reason the Premier League exists is as a conspiracy to prevent Liverpool walking away with the league title every season. But EVEN BY THE CONSPIRATORS’ OWN STATISTICS it is easy to see that Liverpool are on level pegging with all our so-called rivals just three months later.

In other words, the reds have already pulled back 21 points WITHOUT EVEN KICKING A BALL. (And to think some people want to see Liverpool be more active during the close season!)

It is only reasonable to expect that Liverpool will enjoy far more success once we start kicking a ball about than when we’re just sitting around doing nothing. But let’s take the worst case scenario, that our performances from now through till November are only as good as they’ve been from May to August.

THIS MEANS THAT BY NOVEMBER WE WILL BE 21 POINTS CLEAR AT THE TOP OF THE TABLE

Not even the most optimistic rival fan will imagine that they’re going to claw that back. And it would be sensible to assume that, like a good wine, Liverpool are going to keep improving over time.

But let’s say the absolute worst happens – an injury to Riise or Kewell, say – and we continue only at the same clodhopping pace that we’ve kept up since May. Figure it out for yourselves.

BY FEBRUARY WE WILL BE 42 POINTS CLEAR.

BY MAY WE WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE BY A WHOPPING 63 POINT MARGIN.

You’ll never read these kinds of FACTS in the so-called “news”-papers. Then again, those bluespapers (as I call them) are printed in (surprise surprise!) London and Manchester.

Of course, there will be those who will rightly point out that we will probably play a lot better once the season kicks off than we did when we weren’t actually playing.

But 63 points clear by May will do me for starters.

Crack open the champagne! Football’s coming home!

So true , as evidenced by the fact that after just one game we have already opened a 2 point gap on the Mancs  .

Manhattan looked at the Premiership table and Liverpool aren't even in a UEFA Cup spot.

This is just UNACCEPTABLE!!! Our home record is poor. This season, in the league, we haven't even scored a single goal at Anfield!!!!

RAFA OUT!!!!! NEIL WARNOCK IN!!!!!11111

i seriously do not get a single thing in this thread except for Manhattan's post. the only way to silence the critics is to win the title again. other than that, it IS a fact that Liverpool hasnt won the EPL in like forever. it IS a fact that only 3 teams have won it in the past decade. by February we will be 42 points clear? sure. of the relagation zone that is. all these stats, assumptions and so-called footballing experts dont affect what happens on the pitch. at the end of season when we win the title then they would shut up but as of now, Liverpool are yet to be at the pinnacle of the EPL. they WERE a force but over the decade have fallen short of expectations.

Those are not Rafa-Dodds words.  It would've been nice if he gave the appropriate credit.  He will probably say "oops - it was an oversight".  Or, he is trying hard to impress.
