a simple and very effective footballer, a mr consistant performer and an eve present in our side. A very good player and a well deserved contract extension.

Full back is one of those positions you don't notice until you have a poor one. How often did the media talk about Steve Nicol? yet he was probably as good as Hansen at his position.

Well deserved in my opinion. Truly, you cannot find a more underrated player in the Prem.

Only thing is, give it two month and he'll have his own thread calling him rotten. Joking aside, i sincerely hope not. The lad has proved his weight in gold, several times over. Fully merits the extension.

A good move by the club. Very worthy of the contract, and such an unassuming lad. (From what I hear.)

Well in, Steve - keep up the good work. :)

Yes mate , the new contact certainly ties him to us for the rest of his top flight career. Gives us time to groom and bed in the next first choice  right back.

Arbeloa is only 24 so hopefully he'll become first choice, he's shown to be a good buy so far and he's only had 6 months to settle in, I think that lad could become even better

Yeah, Arbeloa would seem to hold pole position as Finnans natural successor , but for some reason I'm not totally convinced (don't know why). Wouldn't be suprised if Rafa at some point brings in another one.

If he was Brazilian the press would rave about him like that average Roberto Carlos who scores a free every 5 years.
