They were clearly trying to ruin it by turning it into a farce.

Or trying to combat the ridiculous changes that UEFA were doing to the CL which is getting to be a closed shop

A closed shop is exactly what our owners want.

The ANFIELD ROAD end conversion is going to cost circa £60m. And that will take the total cost of ground capacity improvement and the training centre to approximately £200m since the arrival of FSG. That is a very impressive investment in our future regardless of what anybody considers their motives to be. Obviously it will increase the overall value of the business but isn’t that the same as any of us do an extension on our home and expecting more in the event of a sale. I for one I’m very impressed with this aspect of FSG’s tenure. Once this work is completed we will have a facility and that can match some of the best clubs in Europe. More importantly they have successfully managed to keep us in our ancestral home. Well done FSG.

Many have been complaining about their investment in the club but it’s clear, they are building a business that will be self sustaining. A young team is also part of that process so I hope they have been keeping their powder dry for them to go out and buy real talent. I said it before, give Klopp a great young team and he will find it hard to leave.

The Anfield Road end expansion is costing us £80mil rather than £60 due to increased costs of materials and labour. So that's comfortably £200+ expenditure on our infrastructure over the last 10 years.

Price of plywood has gone from about £20 a sheet to near £80 within a few months, apparently something to do with Canada.

Price of copper is also high and that will be factored into all wires and cables

The pitch is in a right state at the moment. The ball bobbling all over the place and players slipping. To be fair we have had a lot of home games this calendar year and the weather has been terrible. But with no home game now until 2nd April and hopefully some better weather it should give the groundsmen an opportunity to get it back in shape for the rest of the season.

I noticed that and not sure why. I believe that there is fiber stitched into the grass as it is a cutting edge new system so those areas need to be relaid. That grass is supposed to have a life of 8-10 years (it has been 5 years since it was installed) so it seems to be breaking down early. Maybe they need to relay the turf this summer as the last time it looked this bad was just before they installed this type of pitch.

This guy has been posting regular drone footage of the Anfield Road Stand development. You can see how big it is. Expect loads of work to take place over the summer as there are no games so will look quite different by the time the season kicks off.
